Reset times are now an hour later!

So instead of 7am Pacific time it’ll be 8am.

Yep. By the clock, they’re one hour later.

Except that we all moved our clocks forward to fake ourselves into thinking the day is one hour longer. We’re real easy to fool.

So, technically, it’s still 24 hours from the last reset. The sun will pretty much be at the same position in the sky when reset happens as it was yesterday.

We don’t do it all at the same time however… which is probably why OP posted this PSA.

Yes, allow me to clarify.

We, in this instance, refers to North America.

So, yeah, my foreign friends, live it up. You get an “extra” hour.

(Collective “aww, yeah, faa rout” from the Aussies.)

To be fair, your friends in Arizona don’t do it at all either haha.

1/50 with their heads screwed on straight is a start.

49/50 still be like:

“WHOA, WE GET EXTRA DAYLIGHT. CLEETUS, MOAR BEER!”

Laughs in foreigner

But really, I still don’t understand what’s the point of daylight savings. I’m glad that where I live they used it only a year and then we kind of forgot about it.

I mean, in a perfect world we should all be on GMT regardless of where we live.

Yeah, it would make sense to see the sun rising at 10:22 am here…

In a way, I never understood having time zones/differences.

People should just have different work schedules depending on where they live.

Thanks for the PSA.

This makes me sad, I’m already on a west coast server playing from the east and I’m an early riser so I’ve always had to wait til 10 to begin dailies. Now I gotta wait until 11?

Almost makes me want to switch to an east coast server, but I have like 10-15 characters at or above 100 and until blizzard offers a blanket character transfer deal I’d never spend the money. I have a lot of fun and interesting names on my current server too, wouldn’t really want to lose them.

Its the same reset time regardless of the timezone of the server, for US and Oceanic. You changing servers with a different time won’t change the reset hour.

Nobody thinks the day is an hour longer…are you well?

Meh I’m used to it, never bothered me.

Oh, word, I guess it’s always been like this then. As recently as 3 years ago I was waking up in the PM habitually so I must’ve never noticed. It is rather irritating but at least it doesn’t matter 100% of the time. It’s only really a thing when you literally just want to do the latest dailies as soon as you wake up and nothing else. Thanks for the heads up, guess I’m Sisters of Elune For Life!

The purpose was originally to save lamp oil by changing the time so we got more hours of daylight. Technically saves more electricity now I guess, but it is really just an outdated thing now.

Plenty of us Mericans feel the same way every year. It’s pretty stupid. Just pick a time and stay with it!

Same here: early riser in NYC. I liked 10 better because I got a lot of game stuff done before I had to tend to IRL stuff (eg, mail, errands).

But then, this should be the worst of my problems.

My country does not use daylight saving system & I am unfamiliar with it.

When I was living in Europe about a decade ago, I once showed up to a home party an hour late not knowing that the clock has been forwarded.

The worst part is, everyone there was too nice and polite to call me out for showing up late and no one said anything.

Imagine the horror when I found out later after I came back home and realized that I showed up late and didn’t even apologize nor seemed to be sorry about it.
