Even though the limit goes up one has already collected the max. When the limit goes up you can only collect the amount up and to the new limit. I have gear that still needs these crests and this season limit you have made us live is just bull. SO reset it NOW. Thanks.
the entire point of the cap is to limit how much you can upgrade… its week 3 of the season you still have time

If you buy some updog from the vendor, it will reset your crests.

I just love how each week it moves it up 90 crests. So, if your main is maxing out each week then it becomes a dilemma as there is never enough crests, but if you play an alt then you have plenty of crests to earn where you don’t feel like oh god maxed out again. My problem is a mix of crests but mostly flight stones. I keep hitting cap 2-3 times a week on flight stones on my main. So, I keep crap gear around and keep maxing it out to burn off stones.
OK, but why limit it at all?

have you not followed the reason behind the cap over all these seasons and the games life???
its to stop players from spamming dungeons and getting maxed out equipment because if it was an option a ton of people would be full heroic maxed out gear just waiting on vault or mythic raid to drop bis

Small timegates such as the caps are healthy for the games longevity though
It ensures you’ll keep a sub running because you have to keep logging in to use up currency and recap and upgrade and repeat.
Players paying for 4 months and quitting for 8 out of the year is a quick way to watch future expansions and content decline

They’re engagement mechanisms.
They aren’t inherently good for the game. They’re a means to stretch out content, instead of adding more content.
The real thing that’d ensure people stay subbed is… adding actual content.
blizzard’s cookie cutter, bare minimum expansions models aren’t cutting it.
Because demanding like this always works, right? My children learned very early on, under the age of 2, that this will not work.

That’s not my point.
My point is… we’re on the forums instead of in game, because there is a lack of content.
Limiting access to things which allow us to play the game doesn’t get me back into game, it just makes sure that EVERYONE becomes a raid logger, even people who would have otherwise engaged with the game.
Blizzard might feel justified in doing this sort of thing but that doesn’t mean it’s good for the game.
