I’m new to playing Cata, and am having a bit of trouble reconciling the changes and graphics. Most importantly, my map is now positioned too high on my screen, and I am unable to move or resize it. I disabled addons and tried different windowed modes, but to no avail.
Any tips on how I may reset my map to it’s original location?

The minimap? WoW has never let you move or resize it, at least in classic. Its a small circle in the top right corner by default.
You probably had an addon do this for you in the past. Blizzard added stuff to customize the UI a bit, but its only in retail. Another possibility is some cvar variables you updated, there could be ones for minimap scale or coordiates that require specific /set commands to update.
There are several minimap addons that will help you out. Just get one of those.
Thank you, but it’s the world map that’s out of whack. I submitted a bug report, and should hear something in 2026, haha.
If you want to switch from the windowed world map to the full-screen world map, there’s a button on the window somewhere.
If you want the windowed world map to be in a different place, you’ll need an addon for that.
