Do not reserve an item halfway in. If you were going to reserve it do it at the beginning. Don’t falsely make a group to punk them halfway through. If you reserve an item in the beginning people can choose not to join
You’d think some things would be able to go without saying, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised some people try and pull this.
I hope you guys all dropped the group
All drop group re invite each other and don’t invite the guy, you can 4man anyway
I’d just say nothing and roll need when it drops, ain’t nobody cucking me.
Agreed, if nothing was reserved before invites went out then nothing’s reserved. Roll as such and put that player on ignore.
My guild has both a toxic player and toxic guild tab, if you’ve got something similar put his name in there so word spreads like wildfire. He won’t find a group with any of your guild members, nor their friends.
Isn’t that against the TOS/bannable?
I wanted to get my last step of the Onyxia attunement quest finished and unfortunately I had to join a PUG UBRS run. That’s when the fun began:
I joined an advertised full UBRS run that after the first few trash pulls the loot system was changed to “Need before greed” and an Epic BoE drops 15 minutes later that was worth 250 gold on our server. It was picked up by one person (who wasn’t the raid leader) in the 10 man raid with no open rolls because under the “Need before greed” system you can’t roll on items you can’t equip. The person who took the epic didn’t want to allow open rolls for it. The looting system then promptly changed back to normal looting option after that. After Rend goes down, a couple dps and a healer leave and the whole thing disband with people giving various excuses.
Oh well, sometimes PUGs gives but most of the time PUGs takes from you (time wasted in particular).
Never had a problem with reserving loot. Personally I don’t recall if I have ever reserved loot for myself ever. I have stated in group I am after X drop just to make it clear to everyone and if they have any problems. Never asked anyone not to roll on that item even if a person wasn’t inspec to use it.
Have had a few people (coughtankscough) say they will be needing on something that just dropped to cover repairs. I actually felt bad for them. They don’t know how to make money.
I’m supposing they would set to master loot.
Man this happens a fair amount.
Joined UBRS group on my dps warrior and get to first boss and I say … hope Truestrike shoulders drop and the tank goes oh im reserving those and sets master loot. Lucky I was attuning for Onyxia and Lucky they didn’t drop.
Im just going to start tanking and make my own groups soon and boot people who even mention reserve.
Thats the best course of action. Had a tank start needing on every single item, even greens halfway through a UBRS run. I cant name names, but this scumbag then lied and said he told the raid leader that “he was taking them for coming to tank for us”.
The raid leader had no idea what he was talking about. Needless to say, that orc warrior will never get a group with anyone I know again.
Sorry tanks, you dont get to take things just for doing your job, I played warriors for 15 years, its just as easy as any other job.
Lots of players are selfish jerks. Welcome to the non-personal loot MMO experience.
Sounds like a straight up ninja to me.
I agree that this amounts to ninja looting. If they set it to master loot then you leave. Otherwise just roll need as you would normally.
If they don’t put it on master loot before the pull then roll against them. If they do and you are a class that is important to the success of the group, then just don’t do your part.
Hard to kill a boss if the healer isn’t healing or the tank isn’t tanking. I know certain dungeons have quest objectives for attunements that people desperately want, but don’t let your need for attunement or quest completion let these scumbags abuse you for loot.
I’d have reported him on the spot with a screenshot. Then I’d have left and he’d be out a healer.
This here. Our guild has two tabs for everyone to look at. Players, and other guilds. You put what they did down, and everyone has that information about them.
I check it weekly and add ninja-looters that ran with guildies to my ignore list.
he’s a tank.
let’s be real. if he want a group he’ll get one in 2 minute.
Actually, I’m cool with him getting groups with other people if they want him. He’s their problem. But he wont be my or my guild’s problem. There are only so many people to try to scam, even on these huge servers.
look at all the butt hurt. its 1 item. who cares. and if it was something other people needed. just roll still. did this really need a post?
Its one item this time. Its that 900g item next time. Why would anyone defend Ninjas? If your a scumbag that ninjas loot, then the community deserves to exclude you from participation IMO.
