I created 3 characters on the 27th on the RP ruleset but they are now all showing in the Normal ruleset. I tried to delete a character from the Normal ruleset and recreate them under the RP ruleset but whenever I log back into the game it shows them all back in the Normal ruleset.
Similar, made chars on rppvp and now they’re on just pvp

Your names are still reserved within your region, regardless of ruleset. Don’t sweat it! You should be able to sort it out on your end once Blizzard fixes things on theirs, or when the servers go live.

Is that really true, tho? Because I tried making a character on the PvP ruleset only to find the name I wanted was taken. I created the same named character on the PvE ruleset and it worked.

Sounds like a bug or a display glitch or something. I deleted and remade my toons on different rulesets just yesterday (early in the AM) and had zero issues.

Yup i lost my Horde characters. I made them on pvp server when I logged back in they we’re on rp-pvp. So i deleted them to try and remake them on pvp server and got faction locked out. So word to the wise, don’t delete them for now, you may get stuck on Alliance like me.

im actually kinda happy its making me stay in rp-pvp. i WAS going to do pve but then i heard that weird streamer was going to it. it seems like there is zero appeal for them to come to rp-pvp
Can confirm. Any character that I make on the RP Ruleset gets moved to display on the Normal Ruleset instead. Glad I searched for a similar issue to post to. Gonna leave them be for now. Just glad I was able to delete and re-reserve the name with the correct first name since I had to add characters due to it saying the name was restricted. It was a combination of a name for Wolf in a fantasy language and appending -ka to it, not sure how it would be breaking the naming rules, but was happier for more restriction as opposed to less given the number of “name testers” in the beta…
Mine were created on normal and show up RP-PvP. I want neither RP nor PvP. I delete and create them on normal, but they magically end up on RP PvP after trying to move them a few times.

Having this exact same issue but created on pvp because the pve realm said it was “unavailable” even though my spouse could log in and make pve characters just fine. Now all 3 of my characters are on pvp and everyone else I know is ready to go on PvE for launch day. It’s kind of maddening.

Im having the exact same issue for 2 days now, I have deleted and recreated many times on Normal and PVP and no matter they end up on the RP-PVP so I don’t really know if I even exist.
I am also having this issue. Decided to roll alliance on PvP instead of RP-PvP. When trying to make a character on alliance PvP, it was telling me I couldn’t because of faction lock. I just comitted to deleting the horde on RP-PvP, and made the alliance on PvP, only for them to keep appearing in the RP-PvP ruleset. I’ve tried recreating them many times, and sometimes they show in PvP but i can almost always make them show up in RP-PvP and i have 0 idea where my characters are actually.

Their login screen actually is showing more context.
“Attention: Oceanic players – Due to a bug that has been fixed (lol), it was briefly possible for players connecting to servers hosted in Australia to unintentionally create new characters on the RP ruleset when Normal was selected. Please check the characters you created and delete/remake the character if needed”

its possible for things to turn out well despite your expectations lol. if i could see into the future, i would have done it right away. it’s ok to feel relieved about an unexpected situation

All my friends are on pvp, so in my case and likely many others things will not turn out well. This is likely a massive issue with a very small vocal minority even discussing it. I can imagine blizzard right now is working on it, because 0 characters being made on THE PvP ruleset should be a massive redflag.
