Reserve Your Name in WoW Classic on August 12 at 3:00 p.m. PDT

But isn’t this character/name reservation just becoming available at 3pm, and those of us who don’t get home until after 5pm should still be able to log in and do it?

Oh sure. You just wont get “edgelord” or “Trollingu” or something.

They had one in the test on 8/8, so probably will on naming day.

I love your comment about Old Timer’s being in your 30’s and 40’s! I happen to have raided with several “old timer’s” who are currently in their 50’s Full Time employees (and I am not discussing the 40 hour a week and under crowd either), are NOT in the PD/ST zone, and know how to schedule WoW events around their offline lives. I do understand your concern with not being able to reserve your name at 3 PM PDT, because after all, in some places throughout the US (which also does NOT change time), 4 PM AST; 5 PM CDT; 6 PM EDT; and so forth could NOT possibly be a good time for someone to log in and RESERVE a name the user / gamer would like to have when Classic goes LIVE on the 26th (US) / 27th (Global). Your incapability to manage time makes me wonder how you even found the time to read through this commentary, and post your disappointment over a company’s long standing Time Zone management based from the Time Zone they are in, and not based on the millions of users /players /gamers own Time Zone’s? Are you capable of finding the PERFECT Time Zone for the GLOBAL Community which is good for ALL of them based on the Time Zone YOU ARE IN? Highly doubt it

That’s what today was like. human warrior boy/girl name enter world! Tauren druid name enter world! Orc hunter name enter world… damn… add an e enter world! Edit: Though I’m sure all the toons we just created will get wiped, it was still a fun exercise. World server says it’s down right now and I just created several more characters in record time to try getting into different starting zones of low pop server. But I guess world means world…

EST is the time zone of the capital of the most important country in the universe. Everyone else is either too early or too late. That said 3pm PST means all the west-coasters with 9-5 jobs will still be at work while the east-coasters with 9-5 jobs should be home from work, so the joke’s on the west-coasters really. Unless they do something wild and crazy like take the afternoon off or late lunch or sneak a gaming laptop into the building and take a 15 minute break in the bathroom to create some characters real quick. (That’d be funny actually, all the bathroom stalls full of people typing furiously.) And if you or your real life are too important for you to break away for an hour to create some toons… that’s not a bad thing is it? Can always look up alt-codes to fudge the vowels or get a good name on a low pop server later that day.

Uh, this today isn’t the name reservation thing. That’s next week, on the 12th. Whatever characters are created during this current test will go poof at the end of the test. Just a heads up.

I think I will take a punt on not reserving a name

Thanks for doing this while the adults are at work instead of in the evening when we are home. Very intelligent of you.

is this 3 characters per server ?, or i reserve 3 names alltogether??

It clearly says three per account.

I seriously don’t get the confusion.

Not all adults who play World of Warcraft work during North America’s daytime.

So, for the name reservation. Are we able to just create a random character to hold the name for when we finally decide on what race/class combo, or will we have to just try and fast create our characters and know what we want to play before the reserve date?

I’ve been wondering about that, too. You would think it would work the way it does in retail. But this is our dear Blizzard, so who knows?

Really? 3PM PDT while people have work?

Damn blizzard …

Hey for the Name Reservation, will we have a Race Change on all created characters before the launch of the game? or will we have to go as fast as we can to claim our name and not care about what they look like?

Server location determines raid times for guilds because they will be basing their raids off EUS or WUS timezones.

(I really don’t like that the forums randomly log me into the wrong character like this and I can’t even delete my post)
