I’ve invested resources to have a place for everyone to start up on Old Blancy. Both Alliance And Horde. There’s been a few people who want to roll on the mega servers, but can’t due to the locked status. So, decided to do this for the community.
There’s also a guild, as listed at the top, for both factions. Which is not required to join. But, the guild’s purpose is to have a place that’s casual-friendly, where you don’t have worry about min-maxing, and parsing, but still get raid invites and gear distribution isn’t based on who’s the top of the dmg meters.
If you would like to join the reroll event, simply post here with your in-game name and faction, or just message me in-game. Also post if you’d like to join the guild, which is not required for the package. There’s also a Discord, but not posting here, to detour trolls a bit.
I’ve also seen a lot of people talk about how people miss out on loot, due to not being the top of the dmg meters. So wanted to build a casual friendly environment that isn’t so sweaty.
You could probably offer low level glyphs to those who joined the guilds as well (they are usually super cheap to make yourself). There was a leveling guild that used to do this back in cattlecylsm, first two pages were full of the better glyphs to help people starting fresh. This guild also would randomly have giveaways with various games. I remember once they used /roll, 100g > 50g > 25g for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
I also remember the GM logging in and giving 5man guild groups (that were in dungeons when he logged in) random pretty cool prizes.
I would reroll something, but leveling is unbearable in the games current state.
It’s a lovely idea and I applaud the principle. But this playerbase has demonstrated time and time again that Fresh/Reroll simply does not work.
I remember threads literally nine days after Skyfury/Maladath was released with people complaining that we needed new Fresh servers because they were too far behind. Nine days. This is the hyper min-max, full-server-or-bust mentality we deal with now, where people miss one weekend of playtime and want to throw out the entire game.
And of course, just look at Angerforge today. I couldn’t begin to count how many posts there were of people saying “no, we NEED another Fresh server on top of Skyfury, this time it will be different!”.
Best of luck, OP. I’d just suggest tempering your expectations. Hopefully you get a handful of dedicated players who hang around.
If you don’t try, you will never succeed. It’s more about giving people a place to start again, if they wish, or even transfer to Old Blanchy, and having a place designed for non min-maxing to be. I never expected this to go anywhere. And, if it doesn’t that’s ok. But, if it works out, that would be awesome.
At the end of the day, if anyone posts about wanting to roll a new character, or transfer to, on the mega servers, everyone can point them to Old Blanchy!
