If you can just explain to me what all I need that would be severely appreciated. It just have to be anything crazy expensive but something that will atleast for sure get the job done.
Please.

Lucky! I wish I had 1TB of RAM.

At a glance, your CPU and Graphics Card are below the minimum requirements. I’d also highly recommend getting more RAM and a solid state drive (at least 128GB to put Windows and WoW on with some wiggle room).

There’s enough that I’d want to replace that you’d basically be building a new one with the same case.

Any recommendations at reasonable prices?

What sort of price range are you shooting for?

Why is this not posted on the Tech advise one?

I can do max 1000$ on whatever parts I need

Fx 4300 is like more than half the age of wow itself. What you need in order of most important > least important

Mobo + cpu + ram (yes one item because you need all 3) your motherboard is too old for newer CPUs and your ram will bottleneck newer CPUs.

Ssd = number 2

Graphics card = number 3 it should be fine in shadow lands but will also bottleneck any cpu from the past 2-3 years, still will work though

I would add that if you get all three, you probably need a new PSU, too. Most pre-builds come with a PSU that is just good enough for that build.

Here’s PC Part Picker’s Intel build for just under $1000. It probably could be streamlined but this’ll get you running.

Note that it is a full build so there’s a few pieces you can drop if you want, like the case if you’re willing to reuse your old one.

I run the beta version with mediumish to highish settings with my old i5 4570 and gtx 1050 ti and 16G RAM.
At least on outdoors I had zero framerate issues.
However since I installed the beta on my HDD because I had no more space on my SSD, I had been experiencing some delays in the loading of the UI when logging in.

Deleting this post because karat already made OP a pcpartpicker that will work just fine

List seems decent but 5700xt might be overkill if he’s not playing at like 144hz at 1440p. Op save up and get a nice 27 inch 2560x1440 120 or 144hz monitor (eventually) if you go with this guys build

Lots of edits bcus phone keeps changing words on me

I have 2 really good 27 inch gaming monitors. I spoiled myself on the monitors and was lacking to give my PC attention.

Oh, and a new copy of Windows (if that’s what you’ve been running) should be added to that list.

I’m playing wow on a five year old potato laptop that survived numerous falls, Hurricane Harvey is missing keys and only has one and a half functioning USB ports(I say one and a half because one of the two is missing the plastic piece that holds USB cord in place.) It’s an I3 dual core with a touch screen and six gig of ram. Toshiba makes tough laptops.

Would it be better just to buy a whole new PC
Or build a new one from scratch instead of upgrading parts on this one?

@Tacô I’m running windows 10

Build a new one from scratch, always. Any prebuilt PC you see is made cheap and marked up massively. As long as you can get the blue square peg in the blue square hole and aren’t trying to shove the orange round peg there instead… you’ll be fine.

For $1000 gaming PC you’re definitely gonna have to go with a AMD Ryzen build. Probably a Ryzen 3600 cpu which would run laps around that FX series cpu.

Amd 3600
Rtx 2060
Solid state hdd
At least a 500 watt psu
You can easily find a decent case for less than $100. You’ll get good airflow but with a cheaper case means less features. Airflow is most important because you want to keep components cool.
