When right-click-report was removed from beta, request to join group was removed at the same time. Has anyone seen any comment from blizzard on their plans for request to join group button? I’d take that over RCR any day, but neither were in 1.12
It was intentionally removed because it wasn’t in Vanilla. And isn’t necessary.

Just to be clear I agree 100%, it removes the need to talk to people in some cases and that’s a bad thing for classic, just haven’t seen much discussion about it or an official comment about it

Droodguy the difference is that RCR automates the punishment process and allows Blizzard to not have a huge customer service cost… the hope is that it will not be abused by players…
You are right Request Invite has zero customer service interaction. But it will allow people to group in the world without talking and that is not good for the Classic community.

This is the dumbest argument going on the forums right now. It gives group members similar access to invite people to groups. That’s it. I honestly think most people taking up your side of the argument don’t even know what request to join group even is.
well instead of needing to whisper someone and ask them if you can group up with them / what quests they’re doing / etc, you just press a button and get added, do the content and leave
It’s not a huge thing, but it also takes things 1 step farther away from the original 1.12

2 people in a group about to kill quest mob
1 rando runs up clicks one of the players and invites them to group…
Request Invite sends the request to the group leader…
Now it is his choice to invite the person lets say he does…
1 Rando joins group, kills boss…
1 Rando leaves group without so much a thank you…
pretty sure that’s how it worked when it was on during the first stress test…
