Request: Sword & Board Blood DK

I know we tank with 2H but I would love to see a Blood DK able to use a Shield and 1H sword. I love shield and boards… that would be great.

Just as a second option, it really would be nice. Sort of like how they had that trait that let Frost use either 2H or 1H weapons.

I don’t want to play Warrior to be able to play with shields, I like DK. And Paladin isn’t available to my favorite race. So yeah, extra options for our main class would be great. I also think they should add or return more Glyph options to all the classes, because customization is a big part of the fun for a lot of us.

I understand where you’re coming from but I personally enjoy not having a shield on DK. It definitely helps with the class fantasy of tanking with your undead body and constantly healing the damage taken. It also works really well with how blood actually plays with you taking way more damage then normal tanks but having huge heals.
If anything I agree with the option of having a shield or not.

Why stop at shields? Frost can dw so why not let Blood dw as well. 2h, dw, or snb.

I think tanking without a shield is awesome.

But if you had to…

I think a fire themed DK tank who equips a Fire Flail and a Burning Rune Slab as a shield would be cool.

Things like this always have supporters on both sides, same as frost DK DW vs 2h, enhance sham 2h etc etc

This is why I think blizzard should explore at least cosmetic solutions to these situations. Options that allow people to play their character in the manner they prefer without putting a strain on the ability to balance the different styles.

I’d probably be happy if they just let us transmog between 2h, DW, and 1h & shield. They did it with legion artifacts, should be able to now…

While we’re at it, let’s bring back the Blood DK DPS. They were supposed to be the opposite of Ret Paladins.

if they unnerf blood shield and give armor baseline there really isnt need for a actual shield

Maybe some sort of conjured shield that appears before the DK so you can still use a 2 hand?
