This hasn’t worked for me… almost ever

I’ve used it twice. It worked just fine both times.

This worked for me, but I don’t believe it was in Vanilla.

It doesn’t go to the nearest path, it goes to the next one in the sequence so if you’re going from A to B and there’s nothing between them, you fly the whole path.

It wasn’t in vanilla so I don’t even know why it’s in here.

Speaking of things that weren’t in Vanilla… I could swear I didn’t have silent plate armor in Vanilla… or was it a feature of plate to clank when you moved in an expansion?

The feature was in Vanilla, but in a different form. If you wanted to abort your flight in Vanilla, you simply logged off and then immediately back on.

This button replicates that.

It only works if there is a stop (and you know it) between your current location and your destination

As others said, direct flight paths(SW to IF for example) have no stops, so the button doesn’t work. But if you fly IF to westfall and request stop before you get to SW, you will stop there.

Ding ding ding. Even my like 9 year old self figured that one out pretty early on since I probably had to log off for dinner or something and when I got back on I was at a stop along the flight path chain instead of the end.

It never worked

Let’s say you want to get off in the middle of A-B on a FP.
Easy. You gotta time this just right though.
Get on the FP, and about 10 seconds before your “stop” unplug your ethernet cable, or if you’re on a laptop just turn off your WiFi. Now, go back to the game and wait for it to disconnect you. Turn WiFi back on, log back in and you’ll be off the FP in the middle of A - B.

That’s not a feature, that’s an exploit.

Unintended feature vs Exploit is a decision that Blizz makes. They clearly decided it was a feature.
