Exactly as it says, with so many players and so many alts, 12 characters is honestly not enough to make unique names that aren’t just gibberish keyboard slamming and I’d recommend either upping it to 15 or 18 to be either a 25% or 50% increase in the limit of characters for the name, or, to make it easier on data, even just upping it to 16 due to that being a proper number of bits (2/4/8/16/32/etc)
Wouldn’t a name that’s 16 characters long be gibberish anyhow?
Not necessarily as there is an irl family name that exists of: “Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff”
Different languages have different naming conventions and lengths
Space in the name would be nice.
I dont mean to be insensitive to other cultures
But to me that’s gibberish
Rather they add the ability for surnames.
Can’t relate. It’s one of the benefits of being on a dead server!
-Rita (with no special characters)
These along with the OP’s suggestion should go hand in hand.
I would suggest tossing apostrophes into the pile too. It’s kinda crazy that those haven’t ever been usable with orcs, tauren, trolls, and various flavors of elves all of which use apostrophes in their names having been in the game since its inception.
Or they could just add surnames…
