Alot of these grievances seem predicated on the idea that blizzard planned this weds maintenance. Which they do call it scheduled… but when do they ever do weds maintenance?
I suspect one of two things to be true:
Blizz isn’t in China anymore…so there is no catering for them…full stop.
Exactly this people JUMP to their defense as if all criticism is bad. This is stuff that could help the health of the game and community but instead it resorts to name calling and telling people to go outside. The fact that they have pushed it back ANOTHER hour is just proof positive that they should do this at night when less people are on.
6 AM is not night time in any facet. Maybe if Maintenance was FINISHING at 6AM sure. Starting? No.
this only started happening after they pushed non merit hiring.
its always prime time for someone. Most of are are working during these hours so ill play whe i get home unless the servers melt.

This is why server timezone and locale should matter. If you’re on a server in the US that is located in the EST but you play across the globe, you shouldn’t be shocked when maintenance is occurring during that server’s actual night-time. You’re arguing in the opposite direction for no reason at all.
What I meant was that a lot of people choose to play at night. only a handfull of people have weekday mornings off to play a game. I read that they chose tuesday mornings because as a whole thats when the least amount of people are logged on. Anyway time to go back to work for me. Gl to you
What’s your “uptime” then if your downtime is during the day when the vast majority are at work or school?
There are people who play at every hour of the day so someone will always be annoyed. I think the current maintenance times work for most and also don’t require the IT folks at Blizz to have to work weird hours.
Ahhh its more then a handful for sure…I am one of them and I know tons of others that play during early hours of the day…most are retired or disabled or work weekends and mid week is their days off…its more then a few.
the NA client caters to more than just people in the time zone you’re referencing.
…which results in servers being flooded with people trolling the realms which are up.

And that takes place 7pm to 10pm in my timezone. Why is your playtime more important than mine? Tsk tsk tsk these Americans thinking the world revolves around them.

Love how everyone thinks their playtime is so important that it’s imperative that PST workers come in at whatever ungoddly hour is required to get maintenance started at 4am.

You do understand most changes at conpanies are done by the overnight IT guys right?
This is sorely an issue bc they need devs on standby bc they never test their game
As a nightshift employee the schedule is fine for me, lomg story short someone no matter the schedule will get screwed.
Best you should hope for is a mix in schedule times.
Lol hey John you want to do these patches from 12am - 6am while tired after a long day and also have to fix any issues or systems that might go down.
Yea im sure the employees who do this at a company known for how well they treat employees will get right on this.
