Blizzard,
I think we can all agree that Classic General in NA has become a cesspool of complaints. I would like to propose the following new forums:
Classic PVE
Classic PVP
Classic Professions
Classic Classes (if you won’t consent to each class having their own)
Classic RP
Classic Guild Leadership
This would allow people who have genuine questions/concerns/want feedback to get more appropriate answers. It would also stop the legit threads with real questions or good discussion from getting instantly buried under the negative complaint topics that are flooding this place.
I think a lot of forum go-ers would agree what they see on the forums and what they see in game for people’s happiness scale is quite different. I’ve made the comment - as have others - that we didn’t know we were supposed to be unhappy with classic till we came here.
By creating some more distinction between forums/topics, this negativity and unproductiveness can be reduced/weeded out. Please consider giving us these forums - at least some of them. It would really help the community.

Naw, the EU forums have more topic areas that are pretty much dead. Keep it all in one basket.

I use the EU forums quite a bit. The info/banter there tends to be more productive. There’s still the plethora of QQ, though.
I think a few more forums would be refreshing.
I think they should have fewer classic forums.
MUCH fewer… like… none.
It’s all whining anyway. Might as well burn it down.
What would I do at work then?

90% of posts now are AV complaints. Before that it was world PVP, before that it was lack of tanks.
Segregating won’t change anything. People all just lemming. They complain about the same things as everyone else.

Check all the NEW forums, duh.
I’d support this. Maybe reduce some such as PVE/Prof/Classes (Most of that is all PvE anyways) and you can also couple PVP/Prof/Classes under a PvP forum as well since you can just ask questions about professions and classes in regards to PvP.
So:
Classic PvE
Classic PvP
Classic RP/Story/Lore

Anything would be better than what we currently have.
Starting out small is always better, and if other forums would dictate their need then ask for more.
But I think those 3 would cover all the other facets for now and leave wow-general for any general/non-specific posts.
I like this but add one more: general complaints. Just so we dont get complaint thread runoff in question/discussion threads.
I thought about that but there’s no way Blizz will add a forum specifically called ‘complaints’.
Bugs is one thing, as it’s not a function of the game they wanted it to do and requires fixing.
Having a ‘complaint’ department, so to speak, just acknowledges their seeing those complaints and setting themselves up for failure by not saying anything about them if they have nothing they can say.
Get rid of the multiple avatar system and this place will clean itself up. Anyone else notice how certain avatars in the community become known as trolls and the community treats them as such?
Flagging their posts into oblivion. That’s the community policing itself. Those posters have to switch avatars or not troll.
That is what 1 forum name would do across this entire forum.
It is the root cause of so much of this mess…
We wanted server forums too. Yea. Those are pretty dead last time I checked. So i don’t think adding more forums will clean this up.
Hell this playerbase won’t use the LFG channel without turning it into barrens chat. You really think they will bother posting their nonsense in the proper forum?

Did you know you could switch to other characters you have and like your own posts? What a horrible system to devalue or misrepresent the value of genuinely good points (or bad) over others with heart votes.
Woah, way WAAY too much effort for me, pal.
I won’t even hop on my ally to prove that I can actually see both sides of the fence. Internet points in forum wars mean nothing to me.
NOTHING!
While it might not mean much to some, for those looking to 'suade peoples perspectives, ‘well liked posts’ may inherently mean to some as ‘they are making the correct and obviously known response/view on the subject’.
It’s like stuffing the ballot.
Plus the zero post alts want attention and would hijack the forum with the most activity anyway.
I like the idea, but youd need a mod.
Yes. Been that way since they switched the forums to this. Hell people were gaming the forum rep grind!
Making posts to share the love and then someone said hey dummies. You cannlike your own posts. Lol.
Reading threads? Nah. Just scroll through slowly while watching tv. Lol
Yes. This player base meta’ed a forum rep grind. Lmao.
I’ve also heard flags work that way. Havent tried because that’s pretty douchey.
At the very least stats should have been account wide. Like post counts on the old forums.
We used to use that here to call trolls out. Oh look this avatar said this and it’s one post less than you. Curious.
Blizz knew this and gave these trolls even more anonymity. Why? Because they keep this forum active. Active forum must mean active game right?
I don’t know if you participated in thenold forums when we first got these “new” ones. Just before classic launched though. There was a “golden” time here. Felt like a real community.
Alot of regulars posted on the same avatar and people got to know each other a bit. It was actually a decent experience.
It’s gone downhill since classic launched and some of the locusts started posting here…
