Having everything behind a reputation grind is trash design.
Thank god you’ve now let them know, they’ll change it immediately.
It’s a system designed to keep you logging in a playing. If you don’t want it, mess with their metrics by not doing it.
Like it or not, it’s participation stats that decide what gets put in this game.
Good, good.
informative…
So in you expert opinion, how would you fix or change it?
Don’t log in and play it then. It really isn’t worth going after if all it’s doing is giving you grief. I’m not even bothering with Shadowlands at this point because of how they do rep grinds each expansion just to pad their metrics instead of providing an actual fun game.
Last decade called. They’d like their news back.
Go back to paying gold for flying. Lessen the restrictions for Allied Races from previous expansions.
What constitutes “everything”?
That’s mostly my issue with these kinds of complaints.
The only recent developments to rep grind rewards in modern WoW have been… Pathfinder and Allied Races.
The former’s issue isn’t the rep grinding, it’s the arbitrary 8-12 month time gate.
The latter’s issue is the entire concept – yes the rep grind should go away, but so should the endgame requirements for race unlocks in general. It does more harm than good.
Everything that isn’t those 2 things is basically the same as its always been. As in, the actual content the game offers. The last time I purposefully grinded dailies for Rep was in 5.0 MoP.
If you mess with my paragon gold, I’m going to hunt you down and pounce on you!
It took you 15 years to come to this conclusion? Where were you in Vanilla to save me from Blizzard when I was grinding Hydraxian Water Lord rep to get my Thunderfury? Where were you in TBC when I was grinding Netherwing rep for my mounts? And in Wrath when I was grinding rep to get that Kal’uak fishing pole. And in Cata, Mists and EVERY EXPANSION IN WOW EVER?!?!
Fun stuff has been behind reps since day one in WoW. Allied races are just the latest fun thing.
I remember when reputation used to be useful and actually had many ways to farm rep.
Right? I mean, in BfA all we have to raise rep are WQs. Oh, and daily quests, so just 2 ways. Well, lots of them have quest lines, so only 3 ways. And, yeah some of them have rares that give rep, so 4. I suppose the rep you can get from the mission table technically counts, so only 5 ways. But, yeah…
Rep tabards in WotlK > Better than any rep method in BFA.
BFA is fisher price design.
I can deal with some rep grinds but a big problem with WoW devs is they take good ideas and go way overboard with them to the point that it gets tiresome. That’s why simple player housing became the all consuming garrisons, every path between zones in Draenor became a stupid puzzle, and pathfinder has become so odious that many just give up (as they want us to). Challenges should be fun, not annoyances.
Unless that is your deal ![]()
Reps to me are what raiding is for other players. It is the point, to me.
My Hunter is my “main” rep character. Finding out she could max Black Prince easily still, etc., was neat.
Is it greater than or better than. Which one?
BFA and all its designs are a hard fail.
Don’t forget contracts for that sweet+10
How exactly? I was exalted with everything a month or two after they were available. It doesn’t keep anyone playing beyond that, yet people are still playing.
