Lets talk about reputation tabards.
Imagine if they were BOA and increased the reputation you gained while wearing them. A player could hit exalted on their main, purchase the tabard and send it to an alt. The alt can then gain reputation at a much faster rate.
What are your thoughts?
Yeah I wish more tabards worked like this.
MoP system was better than tabards to be honest. The 100% increased rep account wide was great.
I agree! Blizzard got reputations right in that expansion, I feel.
No they were probably the worst they ever we’re. Gating reps behind reps to get gear was garbage.
The alt friendly stuff was okay but not necessary.
That reminds me of the current, laughable state of reputations. Each reputation has gear gated behind it. You have to reach revered or exalted or something. But by the time a player hits that point with a character that gear is absolutely useless lol it’s so funny how pointless it is.
MoP reputation bonus was by far the best designed in all of WoW’s history. Once you hit exalted, you got a 50% xp buff on all alts, forever, automatically.
Seriously, its the best way to reduce the grinding pain on alts and didn’t require shuffling tabards around.
I find it frustrating when the devolve instead of evolve this game.
I’m not saying the rep gating behind rep was good that was crappy.
I’m saying the commendations of MoP was great.

MoP commendations was far more efficient and effective than the tabard rep. Trust me… im nearing 80 exalted reputations…
Unless! They wanted to get the player to play more often and more frequently, right? Player retention, activity, metrics and stuff?
True. A combination of the two would have been super.
To be fair, this has been that way for a long while. Rep gear is garbage unless you are extremely unlucky in a specific gear slot or you need the tmog. Otherwise it is more wasted energy by devs to even bother with it. It certainly needs a revamp or at least ilvl boosting. It should be the incentive to grind that rep along with the recipes, mounts, etc.
I miss the ones in wrath, or was it cata? Where you could wear them in dungeons and get rep for that faction as you went through dungeons. So what if you grind dungeons to max rep? Most the stuff on rep vendors are only good As first tier equip.
I don’t know. It just usually strikes me as a bad idea to take away different ways to get to the same place. Makes everything fee forced.
Wrath rep Tabards were discontinued because coupled with LFD it was a 1 stop shop and trivialized rep.
You could run dungeons getting badges, rep, gold, gear, and enchanting mats.
It basically made it too easy
The commendations give 100% increased reputation. To go from neutral to Exalted is 42000 reputation points, which is cut in half with commendations to 21000 on alts. Most zones just by questing you get to honored easily in BfA by just doing the bare minimum zone quests for story. Add a 100% boost and you will easily be revered.
Tabard grinding through dungeons is much less effective.
I suppose that sort of makes sense. Was the only way I could farm rep w/ the base factions since they removed cloth donations.
That’s different. Base factions still have Tabards, but the expansion specific ones stopped cuz the above.
