I remember many many years ago, there’s a gear or something to wear, that can pick reputation to get when grinding dungeons? I am grinding old WoD dungeons in chromie, is there a way to get rep as side benefit?

I know there are tabards from the main cities for gaining rep in classic dungeons. I don’t recall off-hand whether there was something similar for WoD.

Original. I think starting in BC, tabards were generally rewards for achieving Exalted status and didn’t provide any tangible benefit.
wod no. wrath,cata provide rep from running them with tabards.

so if I wear cata tabards, but run wod dungeons, it won’t work?

one more question, if wearing cata tabards, at 70 just run through dungeons solo, will I gain rep really fast so get some rep mounts? thanks
yes the rep gain stays same no matter the level. you need to switch to heoric dungeons though at revered i think it is. as the rep gain for normals stops at revered. also for bc dungeons you can gain rep by a. doing low level trivial quests throughout the zones plus get a decent amount of gold (around 5kish) and b. doing normals till revered and then heoric from revered through to exalted though it might be honored to exalted. no tabards needed for bc dungeons as those are rewards for exalted status. mists doesnt have rep gains with dungeons outside of quests as they are mostly tied to dailies and quests i think.

God I wish they’d just finally give in and make all legacy reputations account wide.
You can wear vanilla tabards in all expansion dungeons that grant tabard rep (you get higher rep for heroics). You can wear cata tabards in cata or mop dungeons that grant rep.
