I’d like to see some changes with reputation gains. World quests are fine and all for people who want to do them. But I would like to see them go back to a passive rep grind system. Like the old tabard system. Throw on a tabard of the faction and passively gain rep going through dungeons. Or update the contract system to allow for rep gains in dungeons the same way. Right now, the contract system is not very good. World quests are tedious and annoying, at least in my opinion. Especially when we have alts. Bring back tabard rep, or update the contracts to do this.
Yes, and why can’t we get rep in Zereth Mortis for dailies like everywhere else?
Easy answer: Because they don’t want you to get rep faster than you already are.
Would it be better if they halved the calling rep and added it to the daily quests? You would be getting the same rep either way. The only difference is that you would be required to do more.
By far the single most important change they could make for 10.0 is making reputations account-wide
People’s interests, people’s tastes change over the years - not everyone plays the same character forever. Maybe in 2016 they were maining X class, then in 2018 they swapped to Y class, maybe in 2020 they main-swapped once again to Z class…
The point is, your previous work/progress on reputations shouldn’t be “stuck” on said old character(s). You “already” earned it and therefore your reputations progress should transfer forward on future alts/rerolls. Having to re-earn reputations on each individual character just seems so out-dated… they really need go get with the times/adopt account-wide progress like other MMOs
Reputations aren’t even tied to “player power” that much anymore (see: Zereth Mortis), so it’s not like account-wide reputations would break the game. Reputations should definitely be revamped into being account-wide
I disliked the tabard system, I enjoyed the MoP rep system better. You still had dailies but there were tokens and items that could be grinded out to be used or sent to alts. Then once revered you could buy the option to get increased rep for your account. What this allowed for is you to “grind” rep for your alts on your main account. If Blizzard wants to keep with the paragon system (which I hate) they can make the tokens unusable after hitting exalted.
And that’s why they’ll never do it.
I don’t want anything special, just equal to what we get everywhere else. For instance, we get 10 points for killing bosses in Zereth Mortis and 20 everywhere else in this expansion. We get 1500 points for completing the Rivendreth daily today and nothing from Zereth Mortis. I see no reason to grind for the emissary bag at that rate, so why is Blizzard doing that? They want us to be bored out of our minds there for 6 months or more until the next xpac?
There are ways to get rep besides world quests. The Enlightened, for example, you also get reps in the raid.
Tabards were dumb, I hope they never bring them back.
Adventurer: “I’m going into this dungeon to kill stuff!”
Faction: “We don’t care.”
Adventurer: “I’m going into this dungeon to kill stuff AND I’LL WEAR YOUR LOGO LIKE A NASCAR DRIVER!”
Faction: “Oh you’re the best! Here’s a bunch of rep!”
We get rep for treasure finding as well. But not in Zereth Mortis.
We can hide tabards so that point is moot if you do not like it. And since I do not raid, well … meh.
Some changes would be nice. Doing ZM for 4 weeks felt like an absolute chore. Doing the same WQs over and over again, world boss every week, the weekly and raid for minimal rep gains wasn’t a good experience but I wanted the 291 for pvp. If it wasn’t time gated and you could grind it out super quick would have been neat.
The contracts giving 10 rep per world quest feels disrespectful.
rep is account wide but the items on the rep vendor are not if you want an item off the vendor for an alt you will have to re grind the rep on that alt.
