I just returned to the game a few weeks ago and was wondering if there’s any catch up mechanics or super fast way to get rep with the dragonflight factions needed for the campaign quests. I am stuck right now where it says I need to bring up their renown level to 11 or 12 etc. to continue the campaign. I want to mention this is for my main character not an alt.
The forbidden reach has a 10% buff to rep gain for one of the main factions. You can only pick one per day though. You can also buy contracts to give you an extra 15 rep per world quest completed for any of the main factions.
I’m here for responses I as well have returned
DMF has the 10% buff this week and the “treasures” (tackleboxes, expedition packs, disturbed dirt piles, etc.) all have a chance for a little rep. ![]()

I don’t recall their ever being a catch up for reputation in previous expansions?
Excuse me for my ignorance here, but what is the DMF acronym short for? Ty, just returning too.
dark moon faire
I forget when it was but I believe they did a week of like 100% rep before S3 launched. That was a fun week I genuinely enjoyed doing world content when it felt like my time was fairly compensated.
Hoping they do it again.
The answer is, no. There is no catchup. I don’t think blizz has ever done catchup for rep for non-alts.
If you just do the quests involved you’ll get the rep. Need to put in the work to get something.
Yeah. Alts get a 100% buff on renown if your main has reached a milestone (10, 20, 25 or 30). But there has never been an actual catch up for mains. Only boosts like Dark Moon faire or similar. Or buying a character boost will do it too. Though I would wait for S4 to start. You might get a jump on regular players.
Renown tracks in Shadowlands had enormous catchup buy-ups. There were also multiple bonus weeks towards the end of the expansion with huge rep boosts.
Darkmoon Faire, ride the carousel or rollercoaster and get an hour long 10% rep/xp buff. You can also buy hats that let you re-apply the buff without going back to the Faire.
IF you have the cash, the ‘advanced’ lvl 70 boost (that came with the preorder) includes getting renown to… 20? I believe, on all base factions. It will then grant increased rep gains to all other toons on the account.
Yeah, but that was also tied to player power and had requirements to unlock. And it was for alts and not mains.
We had the alts catch ups in this expansion since day one. I actually don’t remember Shadowlands catch up at all but I didn’t play for the first year.
If you got 80 renown, you could buy a 60 renown bump. Cant remember if you needed 80 in all 4 or just 1.
As for “alt catch up”, I cant recall anything before SL. But SL was the first directly tied to player power.
Yea I came to say this. It’s worth the boost IMO if you don’t have one at 20 renown.
