Repurposing Old Raids

Idk if this idea is anywhere else on the forum but an idea I had for old raids to keep them a little more relevant in retail would be to allow leveling alts to que into them like dungeon finder.
Quick is Example hitting 20-30would let players que for classic/Bc raids etc as people get higher in level. Personally I think this would help newer players dip their toes into raids earlier and make the idea of raiding more appealing at cap. Along with some useful gear / Xmog along the way.

The other idea I had was much like bringing back old dungeons for the newest Mplus season would be to bring back an old raid along with a new raid. Max it out to normal / heroic keeping the current raids mythic option to still yield the best loot.

They could add more raids to Timewalking, streamline the grouping process, and elevate the rewards- say Champion gear from most bosses and 1/5 Hero from the end boss, and count it towards your raid progress on your vault as a Normal. Probably only want to feature one raid at a time- e.g. MoP timewalking feature Siege of Org and Throne of Thunder on alternating weeks.

More time walking raids is definitely a great idea. Speaking of throne of thunder, I can’t remember where I heard it from but I hear it’s making a come back with time walking. (Unless I’m completely wrong about that fact.)
Just a shame they extra time walking raid(s) aren’t around more often then they are.
However when they are around them contributing to the vault would be really good. Sucks to complete a raid that drops the same Ilv gear as normal and not have it count towards the vault.

To be honest, I thought old raids and instances would’ve been perfect for this silly event they’re doing in Tyrhold now. Instead of just spawning random garbage in the open world and having a free-for-all where everything dies instantly and there’s massive lag throughout the whole zone, it would’ve been neat for everything to have been instanced right from the get-go. It picks one of a set of old raids, only a piece of the zone is used, and you run in there and clear to a boss room or two. It’s doing this already with the end boss portal… you’re going to old raid/dungeon boss rooms, but I wish it would’ve done the whole thing in the same zone that the boss is in. Reuse the terrain, put new mobs and activities in the space where the regular raid trash packs were.

Bringing back old raids period to function like a dungeon queue… they’d need to rebalance things. I don’t think puggers that queue for such a thing are going to be interested in learning raid mechanics… that to me is going to be a thing where either the raid is made trivial or the mechanics are still there, people never learn them, groups wipe and then they go through a revolving door of new players until the community learns that it’s pointless to queue for such a thing. Personally, because dungeons are also relatively trivial at low levels, raids being made trivial works too. It is an excuse to naturally walk into a raid and get something other than farming for transmogs done which would be nice. Smacking old raids by yourself just for transmogs and nothing else is really tedious.

They had timewalking raids… when was the last time one of those was available? Those to me felt like an afterthought… like it was nice to bring an old raid back like that, but it never felt like anything other than a novelty that you do once and then leave it alone.
