As a gay man, i may be speaking out of line. But personally, i don’t need some random company to force lgbtqa+ representation because i know they’re only in it for profit. How would transgender characters work anyways? You could either have one that is pre-transition, or after. Either way i wouldn’t trust blizzard to make something that actually is offensive instead.
I was trolling the OPs troll genius. Please get over yourself and stop judging people, you’re not god.
Sure you were.
I already see people TRP’s on Wrymrest Accord with how they identify themselves. I been to realms who type what gender they are playing in the game. I see no problem with that.
I have an open mind about how a person identifies themselves.
Look at the achievements LMAO
I’ll bite and give a suggestion for them. In the character creation screen (and then all of the barber chairs), give the option for the player to pick gender. So, if the player has a biological male character and says said character identifies as female, a box can be checked (because checking boxes is important!) that states as such. Then, in conversations with NPCs, the text (not voice) conversations would reflect the checked box. That way, if said male character identifies as a man one day, a woman the next, and neither the third, they can pop on over to the barber and change the way NPC address them in the text (not voice).
If the point of transgender is to be accepted as what you feel rather than what physical body dictates and since we don’t get to run around naked so technically anyone on Azeroth could be transgendered. Why would we need the option? Isn’t labeling yourself defeating the point? A point among transgendered is called “passing” So options to make you look un-passing also defeat the purpose.
Clearly poor attempt at trolling.
What is your definition of trolling? Is feedback considered trolling? I’m confused on why that is. Adding more gender fluid options into the game is not considered trolling.
If it was meant as a troll, I didn’t see it that way.
I applaud the increased inclusiveness options.
Maybe I am just not Jaded enough.
I don’t get it either. People just want to start negativity with anything including more representation.
but this is not going to represent anyone, dude.
there is a trans here on the topic who already said that doing this is a crazy move.
stop and think for god’s sake, there are only 2 genders. There is no human being who can be two things AT THE SAME TIME - hemaphrodites are a rare exception and even they choose one side - and one appearence !!!
if you really think about representation, that would be absurd, because you would need to create something VISUAL in the game. Stop and think about it.
A text saying what the person is, does not help at all and does not make sense - if the person wants to be represented as “she / her” - the game has feminine characters. If the person wants to play a male character but be treated as “she / her” - he will face the same problem as in real life.
WHERE in real life do you see a guy automatically being called “she” ?
I already explained, if I see a man on the street I will call “him” until the person corrects me - and yes I would call “she” if that man asks me to do this, but initially it is not possible to know how people want to be called, we will always look at the VISUAL side first.
Do you think that putting a text on a character will help these people’s lives get a little better?
So if I meet someone on the street, should I first ask if that person plays world of warcraft and see the pronoun he / she uses in the game and then return to the conversation with the person?
Or do you think we should have 1 eye connected to our cell phones, showing everyone’s pronouns in their heads to avoid this type of error?
for God’s sake man. Wake up to life.
it will be another option placed in the game that doesn’t make sense, it won’t help anyone, watch as many people warn that it is enough for a male character to ask others to be called “she” and everyone will respect it.
you simply want blizzard, who is having a HUGE problem with other, more serious things, and may even CLOSE the game, stop everything to do something so insignificant that it WILL NOT HELP these people’s lives at all, for the various reasons mentioned here.
Then join a roleplaying server, use an addon like TRP or something, and identify yourself as non-binary/make it clear in your profile that your character is trans.
They aren’t going to add those options, and even if they did, the vitriol spewing in these forums would make this place uninhabitable for anybody. (Though if they did make those options available it would be nice, admittedly.)
You’re wrong. But there’s no point in trying to persuade you. You don’t want more representation because you probably feel threatened by your old outdated ways. Please do any research and realize there’s a lot more than just male/female for those who wish to use gender-fluid identities.
no, and you’re crazy.
Progressivism is a cancer that will always kill the host.
How the hell do you want gender fluid and non binary shenanigans represented for player races? You’re seriously reaching.
Isn’t the fact that you can change your toons gender on the fly enough?
Like do you want male models having female voices as options and vice versa?
I’m not arguing for trans/enby options or anything, just wanna say that more voice options would actually be pretty cool. But they already said “no” to more customization so…
Now that you mention it, having the option to chose what voice you want would be a great feature! I will make sure to leave my feedback in for that as well.
“We want representation and we want it now!”
“OK, how do you want it?”
“We don’t know!”
