I haven’t read any of the comments below and I doubt I want to, but I’m curious, how would one go about using the customization to create a transgender/non-binary in game outside of like using an RP addon?

I completely agree. Adding more options in game is always a positive especially with how vast the WoW community is.
Just RP your sexuality and or gender and your problem is solved.

Yes there is. It’s called…Imagination. You pretend your character is trans. Or pretend like you are “non-binary” like real people do every day. And no. I am not saying trans people are pretending. Just the fake trans people who want to be called xim and Z and them. Those fakers.
Like me. I am IRL a Bisexual male. But one of my characters is a lesbian. A few are bisexual, ones is straight and none are trans. It’s all about that magical word, Imagination.

Ah yes let us all reply to the troll thread, I too can make an alt, level it to 11 and make a post worded in a specific way to try and rile people up.
In fact I might do so tomorrow, depends on how I’m feeing.
We need more big shoulder orc representation! Nothing else matters to me.
They still don’t have a character that looks like me in there and guess what I don’t care if they ever do.

I’m actually a male orc…you could say I’m a…a Trap.
Currently our nameplates look like this:
Countess Alael - Staghelm
Heaven’s Hope - Staghelm
If all groups/subgroups are to be represented they could be listed like this:
Countess Alael - Draenei - Lightforged - Female - Heterosexual - Staghelm
Heaven’s Hope - Staghelm
My only condition would be a way to toggle between the two.
OR:
Download TRP3. Even if you do not roleplay, you can use it to call out how you identify yourself. You can also do a backstory. If somebody else has TRP3 going they can mouse over you and see the main details (more if it is unlocked I think?). If somebody is not interested in knowing this information, they do not need to install the addon/turn it off. If you want to see it used to the nth degree, go to Goldshire on Moonguard with the addon and read. 
Where’s the pronoun tho?

I claim ignorance on that one (no disrespect intended). I spelled it out as I would see it on my toon here. I do not know if a pronoun would be an additional callout or in leu of one I already listed. Either way I would imagine it would be doable. I would still want the toggle ability since I have no problem with others wanting to spell it all out, I also have no personal interest in it.

I’m a transgender person and I choose the avatar that best suits my gender identity.
If I want special pronouns I set them in total rp 3. Nothing further is really necessary.
