Reported. Reported! Gah

Ironic, given that he is the one that lashed in the first place to get reported.

How is it that you got as far as you did in your (probably public school) education and never actually learned the Bill of Rights?

We don’t have unlimited freedom to speak without consequences for our behavior and a company’s right to regulate speech on their own platform is essentially unlimited.

What you have is LIMITED freedom from government censorship of speech and even that is not absolute. You can still be prosecuted for creating a public nuisance for standing on a street corner and screaming obscenities, for instance, and you’re not allowed to make verbal threats (pretty much of any kind).

G-d, some people

In all fairness, I didn’t say no underwear
 just no pants.

No! As a lady, it’s better to have on under garments.

You have fur so it’s not really no pants with you. Let’s make it fair and use these clippers on you to make it legit. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzt

It’s a hundred and five outside. You’re lucky I’m wearing clothing at all.

2 pieces of string and a postage stamp don’t count.

Who cares? Like, really?

I got a forum ban from writing four asterisks in a row before. That’s where we’re at right now.

oh dear you stay away from there!

We do, lot of us just don’t broadcast it. Idc either way.

That was not me!

Well this escalated.

Good. Because “masked” profanity is still profanity in the Terms of Use.

I’m glad to see that Blizzard is finally enforcing their rules.

To be honest, the biggest problem with the rules before was the lack of enforcement which gave people the false impression that any execrable behavior was okay.

Blizzard loudly and publicly notified the community that this was going to change.

Now we see a lot of whining about “Oh, but I didn’t get a warning” or “Oh, they never enforced these rules before” or (my favorite) “The new rules are unfair” (because the rules haven’t changed since 2004 - only the modes of enforcing them).

How is it that Americans understand their constitution so little?

The First Amendment protects only from government, its agencies, or related services from unreasonable infringement upon a citizen of the United States within the borders of the United States.

In the case of Blizzard applying a terms of service which restricts your language, the first amendment doesn’t apply. You would be governed by laws which protect citizens from attacks, libel, and mischief. You are clearly on their or using their property and services. In the U.S. especially the law considers the owner to have clear rights over the customer.

Blizzard also has to comply with international laws that the United States has signed for you on your behalf as a citizen, which means that they also need to comply in some cases with speech laws in other countries. In Canada for example hate speech is not considered a protected form of expression. You can go to jail in Canada for such things as extreme holocaust denial if I’m not mistaken.

Yep, masked profanity is against the rules you agreed to.

Why is this so hard for people? I genuinely don’t get it lol

I was kidding, doll.

It was offensive? Anyway, probably best anyway.

It may not be you but I’m having multiple posts being reported in this thread.

I think he was making an escalator joke?
