They still are. Some of us overcame it though. I still remember getting asked to take the science portion of the SAT in the 7th grade because I scored in the 99th percentile on the science portion of our states standardized test. I was living in extreme poverty so my dad wouldn’t pay the $40 required for the test. 
It doesn’t matter though. I believe people generally end up where they belong regardless of how they were brought up.
They’re no different than they’ve always been.
The definition of free speech and censorship aren’t what you think they are. They don’t apply to private businesses deciding what’s allowed on their property.
Name a business where you can come on their property and say or do whatever you wish with no rules.

When you said MF, were you using the acronym for My Friends? If not, you might want to ask yourself why you felt the need to use that acronym. Maybe consider getting some help with your anger issues is the answer.

Fortunately you are seeing first-hand that the court of public opinion has a ruling for inappropriate behavior. When you behave contrary to what your peers feel is acceptable, you are ostracized. At this point you are given the ultimate option to stay and behave, or leave. That is no slippery slope, that is just a fact.
