Hello everyone, I would like to know why a person from the country PERU cannot be called ‘Peruvian,’ even though that is their nationality? WTF Blizzard?

I would ask in the CS forum.

No way you’re getting an anwser here.

that option pops up whenever you receive a message from somebody you don’t know, if that’s how your settings are. it does not mean that message is necessarily offensive, or that it will get the sender in trouble.

That is bizarre

the player asking is my friend in battlenet since 1 year

In this day and age on wow you can be banned for saying dumb.
“these queue times are dumb” can result in a 24 hour mute.

if he doesn’t report you, no te preocupes

It might seem like an innocent or innocuous name but if a player puts a title on like “Smelly” etc then it potentially may become offensive to others. It is generally a good rule of thumb not to name your characters after political/religious figures or nations/races etc.

Did you add an adjective such as “dirty” or “stinking” before “Peruvian”?

nop, just “eres peruano” “youre peruvian” really i dont know if it works in english, but it does in spanish, do it yourself, tell your frind to send you “Peruano”

Not much you can do about a flagged name change. Just don’t try to circumvent the name change by naming it the same thing or using special characters, that could get your friend harsher punishment.

If you want a potential, more in depth or better answer from a forum moderator or forum mvp, then move your post here:

that’s not what’s happening here. the screenshot was of a line of text from a private message. no character name is involved.

the system is giving him the option to report this text. if he doesn’t want to, nothing will happen. it is not saying anyone has been reported. nobody is in trouble.

Gotcha. I don’t speak Spanish. So I replied to this. Can see the confusion, I’m sure.

yup, i gotcha now.

basically his friend messaged him “you’re peruvian” and the system added an optional quicklink to report a potentially offensive message. that’s all

Ah. Thanks. My bad. I was only trying to help. That feature is so finnicky, sometimes I get those pop up with the most harmless of messages lol.
