Report button is not a dislike button, be responsible!

Really everyone, the report button is not meant to be used as a dislike button. Just because you disagree with a post doesn’t mean its ok to report it, only report trolls or bad influence people.

Lets all agree to be responsible with the report button before they have to take it away, like they’ve taken away so many other things. If you think the forums are crazy now, just wait til the report button goes away because they are tired of dealing with fake reports.

There isn’t a doubt in my mind that this post will be spam reported soon and nothing will come of it.

They dont like being spammed with fake reports, and to remove it is easy.

or, OR! they could re-add the downvote button. that would make folks a bit more hesitant to report eachother. just a bit.

Severe consequences would also prevent people from falsely reporting each other.

not saying it was a good or bad idea, i’m just saying it would make people have a button other than ‘report’ to hit when they dislike something.

Yeah the current color is very bland. Need more vibrant colors to be honest.

Anybody remember when they told us that the ‘dislike’ button we used to have was actually intended to be used to report with? We were apparently using it wrong by using it to indicate dislike.

It was pruned because we did not use it the BlizZard way IMVHO. Plus, remember the time gating on likes? Time played metrics even on forum participation now.

I don’t generally report people, but I’ll admit to being slightly disappointed when I opened this thread and the OP wasn’t hidden due to being reported.

However yes, too many people use the report function as a downvote ever since they took downvotes away.

I would say that people should report anything that falls within a category of the choices available :man_shrugging:
