Omg! Why did I not know this!? Lol all those âreported for spammingâ and âreported for reportingâ things are real!? Haha thatâs awesome!
How many people troll around Trade chat though in order to make that happen? And is there a time frame that those reports have to fall in?
itâs not an âold jokeâ, itâs a thing people do.
âŚbut youâd know this, because by your own admission, youâve done it.
anyhoo, i donât think letting people know they can be actioned for it is being too serious, itâs just the reality of the situation.
So no more defending bases? Everybody should be fighting in the road at all times to make sure they donât get auto-booted for defending a base that isnât attacked for 2 minutes?
Iâm just going off their request to âactivate PvPâ.
Viking Santa was once a young troll too.
Letâs try to clear something up hereâŚand yes, I know this might not be well received, but Iâm going to provide a supporting link too
Having multiple reports for âAFKâ does not instantly kick youâŚat first. It gives you a debuff with the chance to get back into action.
However, if there is repeated reports over multiple battlegrounds (a pattern of behavior) then the system reduces and then eliminates the chance to get back into action.
Simply put, if there is repeated behavior of AFK being reported over several* battlegrounds, then it does become an instant kick. In fact, if it continues, weâve definitely seen accounts actioned further over in the CS forums up-to and including account closure.
So while multiple reports can lead to being instantly kicked, it doesnât happen on the first offence.
Note the wording in this support article:
I wonât pretend to know any of the thresholds behind the scenes or how many reports/battlegrounds that one has to be reported as AFK in for this to kick in as Blizz doesnât tend to make that sort of info public (for obvious reasons I think).
As to the OPâs ticket, reporting someone AFK is not against any rules and those who reported you will not likely receive any punishments as such.
So I am gonna have to disagree here. I donât get a âafk debuffâ put on me So why the Arcticle does say one thing it most likely is an automated X amount of reports = you get kicked. Also I do not expect anything to happen from a gm ticket since every thing is automated now days
It is after repeated behavior yes. But not when the behavior first starts. If youâre getting kicked after the reports now, then itâs been an ongoing issue over multiple (again, I have no clue how many) BGs.
Iâm not saying it canât happen, Iâm saying that it only happens after a pattern has been identified by reports from other players. Itâs not a simple x number of people reported me my first BG and I got kicked without a chance to get back into combat.
Well I donât recall getting afk flaged so yes I see what the it says but in thats not how its working so maybe it a bug that x amount of reports trigger a kick
Maybe youâre not noticing the flag because youâre jot AFK, so when you get flagged, itâs instantly removed since youâre active.
But according the article, if this is a repeated situation, the system reports the âmultiple instancesâ and then moves you to the auto-boot?
I think thatâs from lag bro
I honestly donât care what the article says you and I both know X amount of reports trigger a instant boot just like x amount of reports trigger a Squelch. Could be a bugg with the afk function since its not working like the article says
Is it possible that itâs bugged? I guess thereâs a chance. Youâre certainly welcome to put in a bug report either in the Bug Report forums or you can use the in-game bug report feature.
As someone who is a regular in the CS forums, Iâve not seen any increase or indication that this might be bugged though. In most cases the blues (Blizz employees) tend to express the opposite, that the system has been working as intended.
Thatâs not to discourage you from reporting any potential bugs though. Just my personal experience posting there.
Iâm just saying that based on how the system is supposed to work, you shouldnât get booted without a history of AFK reports. Not accusing you of anything, thatâs just how the system is supposed to work.
No I get it thats why I think it might be bugged since I do not have a history of afking.
No, this is abuse and he is correct. It sounds like it could be good but it likely gets abused more than properly used like everything else in this game.
You donât necessarily need to be, just be reported.
It has been reported multiple times from others that they get the laziness debuff, re-enter PvP within the allotted time, and are then booted a few minutes later.
This does align with the âmany reports in a short time frameâ bypassing just the laziness buff and jumping to the kick from the BG.
But thatâs not to say that it doesnât take away from the âmultiple laziness debuffs over multiple instancesâ either though. Could be that both are true.
Edit: say it takes 10% of the players to initiate laziness debuff - and 50% to activate auto kick. Would make both scenarios true. And I know Iâve been part of a mass report afk in large (40 people) BGs and seen people instantly booted before too
My experience is that when someone says, âPlayerX is afk, hasnât moved all game, report them afkâ that theyâre gone in seconds. That seems to be how it is actually working, regardless of what the article says.
I think there should probably be more categories for reports.
However, if you are in Tol Barad and donât move for maybe 2 minutes you will get the afk debuff and have to attack someone or something to clear it.
I have seen complaints that after you die and rez in a gy you have a limited amount of time to start moving or you are auto-kicked. It wouldnât surprise me if backfilling had the same requirement.
Gm Answered
Hey there <Removed>!
Game Master <Removed> here to assist you today and I hope your day is going excellent.
I apologize for any frustrations this may have caused. That is very odd since I never seen someone get kicked from a BG or dungeon the moment they get into the BG unless everyone in the BG had waited for a new person to join and did a report for AFK option, but that is very rare to see a group do that. I will investigate this more on my end and make sure that the appropriate action is taken. For privacy reasons, I cannot discuss or reveal what actions we may take, but I will make sure that we take the appropriate actions.
Unfortunately, there isn't anything we GM's can do in the mean time in regards of not getting anything from that run, but if you continue to see this happen in the future, please let us know.
Thank you for your time and I hope the rest of your day is enjoyable.
SO Despite what that article says looks like its working way different
Just had this happen to my mage 3 players screaming to report me at the start of the bg and Boom kicked while in COMBAT
