Thanks for making it 3 clicks again guys! Really shows you want us to stop doing it so the spammers can keep listing their crap.
Just go play the game.
How many was it before?
Right click - report advertisement. Done.
I’m almost convinced that report feature doesn’t do jack . They just threw it in the game to make people feel better.
Oddly enough I just reported to advertisements, and it was Right click - report advertisment. Done.
Log into game, get the mail spam, report, 6 months later, same mail spam, same sender, same message, nothing changes.
doesn’t that mean…that they are getting 6 months bans? just a thought. seems to be more than nothing happens.
Edit: It’s still one click for me. Report advertisement. And the group finder is pretty add free right now.
Note the name, report them.
restart the app, log in. They’re back.
Can’t say temporarily hiding RMT adds from you is the only thing it does, but temporarily hiding them is all you can see.
I’ve just started noticing them this expansion so there was a pretty long grace period there. Don’t know if that’s due to actions taken by blizzard or carry companies having to figure out how to actually carry people in this content.
for me its right click, report advertisement, pop up, click innappropriate communication, then click advertisement
Things that didn’t happen vol. 248
When you right click, report, they are put on a temporary ignore on that character. When you relog, you reset that ignore and see their posts again. Bliz often collects the reports and bans in waves, depending on the offense and if they determine it’s a group or not. These people also recreate toons on stolen accounts, so what you see is the same person over and over probably isn’t even the same account. If people THINK it’s the same person tho, they’re less likely to report it, and they can keep doing it longer. Read the CS forums sometime, especially after a ban wave. It can be quite amusing. They get punished.
I doubt that.
Not saying it never happens. But these are real businesses. They may violate the terms of service but that’s not a law. But they do have payment processors and accept credit cards so there’s no reason to take on the liability of running afoul of the law and risking your payment processing for what is basically an advertising cost.
And by the end of the week in shadowlands you could look at some of those blatant RMT adds and see they’ve been up for 3 or 4 days.
Besides, stolen accounts isn’t really a big issue these days. Security is a lot better, they fingerprint machines and installs. If it was a large issue you’d see the CS and GD forums filled with the sad story “My account was stolen” threads all the time like you used to in the early 2000’s.
