Replacing tier set pieces

At what point should I be replacing tier set pieces? Should I wait until I have a new tier set piece to replace my old one? Should I wait until I have at least the new 2 piece bonus?

Or should I be replacing it all with the new gear I’m getting from the patch? Is an item level upgrade better than the tier set bonus?

Thoughts?

Also, what about enchants? Should I be enchanting my new gear right away, or wait until my tier set? Or should I just enchant the new epic pieces that I get?

I prefer ilvl but I only break my tier set once the gear is higher than 6 ilvl.

It depends on the specific strength of the tier sets your breaking / gaining. There’s a difference answer depending on your spec and the ilvl difference between the pieces, however with the ilvl difference being so large this season it’s likely correct for everyone to break their sets as soon as the season starts and they have access to 460+ tier pieces from the catalyst.

Get new 2 piece set then throw the old 4 piece in the trash, but until then choose whatever sims better.

This is actually a really good question and I think this is crossing alot of peoples minds right now. I’ve been thinking about this as well since most my tier ivl is 428 and yhe gear im getting now goes much higher than that.

However if you haven’t used your catalyst yet from last season you can do both dream surge and time rifts and get items that can be upgraded with the new currency and turned to ilvl 450 tier which would hold you off until the raid atleast.

Sorry, I missed the second question. I enchant everything even greens. It feels awkward without enchants.

I think you should sim. And save pieces for catalyst. And snag up whatever you can from Vault. HOld onto every piece till you get you best combo of 4pc. I rock old 4 set until I can do a 2+2, then rock that till i get another 2 of current tier. But I also sim it. It’s worked out that way for me but maybe some classes or specs would want a 4pc until they get a new one. Idk. But simming overall I think would be your best bet.

I enchant every piece. But in general I only enchant with 2* (usually cheapest) unless it’s either crafted, has terts, or is either on the last or second to last. I try to consider price per point per length of time I might use the piece. Pretty much doing all 2* rn.

I’m also not an uber nerd mega gamer so take me with a grain of salt.

Depends on how strong your tier is. I’ve not looked, but it’s possible that guardian druid may not even want this tier over last.
