You aren’t comparing it to fully upgraded rings. A 441 with socket is a considerable upgrade over it.
Sorry, what I meant to say was when I was comparing a free ring I found on the ground in a previous season compared to the equivalent heroic raiding ring drop of the current season, the former still works better. 
Guess it is time to finally start +16s so I can replace this ring.
It was always supposed to be replaced at some point during this season. 437 no socket is not a heroic ring.
BM is one of the first specs to replace it, more-so after the recent buff.
Exactly. Is seems like it should have been replaced early in the season with the equivalent 424 or higher rings.
Exactly. 437 still with no socket rings are still higher than S2 heroic raid ring drops. It should be without question that either of these rings would be better than a free S1 catch-up ring.
I read guides that this would be so. But both in simming and practice it doesn’t seem to be so. =/. Well actually, after getting all other gear to 437, my new ring did sim a tiny bit higher. But on multi target practice, the Onyx Annulet was still producing better results. Possibly rotation issue.
If you mean the upcoming nerf to the Onyx Annulet in the blue post from yesterday, yes. That might make current S2 rings seem a better choice for more people. Yeay for nerfs.

Yes. At a lower ilvl proc items do more relative dmg. As you acquire more ilvl and stats their value drops.
Hard truth. The guide also says that we should be acquiring a 441 weapon the first week. It has rather high expectations.
No. The 5% buff to bm pushes your ability damage higher. Proc items like the bomb trinket and ring go down in value.

when is it being nerfed? still simming lower than 441 ring crit/haste without socket
