Replacing a sound file

I’m trying to isolate the mounting sound effect for drakes/proto drake mounts, as it makes my ears bleed when I hear it through my headphones, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the name of the .ogg file. All the mountsummon commands don’t include any dragon mounts at all (other than dragon turtles lmao) and the way wowhead has them organized doesn’t make much sense to me. Does anyone have something for me to go on?

(Also cannot tolerate the hiYAAAAA from fel rush either, no matter what race it is :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:) Teach me the ways oh great ones

:v:

I downloaded a mod to change the sound files to super mario.

I was told it’s bannable, I reinstalled wow.

Anyway I’m not sure changing game files is allowed in the tos.

It’s not illegal to remove sounds from the game*. I remove quite a few, train sets sounds, motorcycles, and other such “imposing” sounds. Once you learn to remove sound files (read the link I gave you), then you can google how to remove certain sound files, or you could search WoWhead.

For instance, in the sound file you can create a text file, but then rename it like so**:

VO_DHNightElfFemale_AttackCrit01.ogg
VO_DHNightElfFemale_AttackCrit02.ogg
VO_DHNightElfFemale_AttackCrit03.ogg

That will mute those DH sounds.

EDIT

Blue explains the legality of it.

Awesome. I’ve been wanting to get rid of those for awhile.

You’re not changing game files though. You are putting a sound file in place that has a higher priority than the one inside the compressed game archives. The original sound is not touched, it is simply no longer used.
