This is less story and more a hypothetical, "What would you like to see?"
Would you like to see the Forsaken stealing a floating necropolis from the Scourge?
What about reclaiming the entirety of Stratholme?
Would you like the Night Elves to reclaim Edre'thalas (Dire Maul), or build a new city in the heart of Ashenvale or atop mount Hyjal?
Pitch your ideas. I'm curious what people think.
10/27/2018 02:56 PMPosted by SkytotemJust for the heck of it, what are all of your far fetched wish Fulfillment ideas ? No matter how unlikely
The Night Elves continue to grow their protective tree in the Firelands, eventually consuming all of the Firelands, turning it from the Plane of Fire to the Plane of Life.
That'll teach those Dark Irons to make a joke about Teldrassil, *Shakes fist.*
The night elves can turn hyjal and its tree into their new city.
The forsaken can turn naxxramas into Overcity.
Pls blizzard.

I may be weird for saying this, but i want the forsaken to build what amounts to a regular village using their unique assets, a necropolis is just to... scourgey for my taste, and after this expansion i'm tired of playing the scourge.
Nelves moving into Val'sharah or Hyjal.
Forsaken, I dunno, maybe around Dalaran Crater? You could have different layers of a new city along the crater's walls.

I second Nelves converting Val'sharah or Hyjal into a new capital.
As for Forsaken, they can have Stratholme, assuming it's not canonically reclaimed by the AC. If it is, then they can have Alterac. Noone wants Alterac
Except Sternbridge. Inb4 Sternbridge

Fair point about a necropolis being too scourgey, I just like Em lol
I'd like to see the Forsaken get a real city with their building style. I'd also love for it to be called something like New Brill, but they could call it Sylvanasland for all I care as long as they get something unique to them.
If the Night Elves and Horde can be close to each other after this expansion, I'd like to see them turn Hyjal or Feralas into their new home. I'd have said Darkshore, but that's not likely to happen considering open world Darkshore is going to be a pvp zone for the Alliance every other week.

I just want the Undercity back the way it was. It annoys me that is was destroyed for seemingly no reason, since it seems to have had no real impact on either the story or even to the players. In game, it just resulted in a few Forsaken npcs loitering around Org, but it doesn't seem to be any sort of motivation or driving force for anything or anyone in the Forsaken/Horde. And as far as players go, it seems to get overshadowed by the destruction of Teldrassil, with many people seeming to consider it a Horde victory of sorts, as if it being destroyed by our psycho queen instead of the Alliance has any sort of practical difference. It's still just as destroyed.
I imagine it'd be difficult to regrow Teldrassil, at least in the same location. So probably Nordrassil, for the Night Elves. But properly updated, with modern graphics and assets. And made into a proper city-in-a-tree, like Lothlórien, or artwork of Teldrassil from Traveler.

The Alliance would have had no reason to destroy it's own major capital in Kalimdor. So yes, it WAS a major victory for the Horde in it's quest to secure the continent.

I mean people are spinning the destruction of Undercity as a Horde victory, not Teldrassil. Sorry if I worded that poorly.

It is interesting to note that Blizzard actually talked about this in an interview:
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-08-22-telling-world-of-warcrafts-story-is-challenging-because-its-spread-across-more-than-the-game-blizzard-says
- "It is a magical tree, and it's not the first magical tree," [Senior Producer Michael Bybee] said when we asked whether it would grow back.

It was a Pyrrhic victory for the Alliance, which is just about as good as a loss. The developers have said as much. So yeah

Then it sounds to me that no one wins, and the warcraft world just ended up a little more empty with nothing to show for it.

That was the intent, yes.
I agree what happened to undercity is more annoying than anything else. I am not trying to disregard what happened to Teldrassil, but at least it served the night elves and the alliance plot and motivation. Undercity and brill being destroyed just feels pointless and annoying.

This.
Let them build a functional society of some sort while they are at it. Not something that looks like they really, REALLY like playing Fallout and/or WotLK.
Undercity is pointless because it was so deserved. The loss of Lordaeron should be a terrible tragedy for the Forsaken, but it's impossible to muster any grief over it - because the events leading up to it are so utterly black and white.
The Forsaken could move into Gilneas. The zone is underused and they could go all new-Forsaken on the place. That would keep the tensions running high between red team and blue team in the Eastern Kingdoms. And it would be a great !@#$-you to Genn ‘My Alliances mean everything to me until it costs me something’ Greymane.
