Edit: Suggestion based off the comments, a typhoon choice node for a knock up/knock back option, giving the player the option if they want to opt into mass grip with a typhoon/vortex combo, or knock up.

if typhoon is 18 yards, and vortex is 8 yards, how would you be losing gorefiend’s grasp?
I guess there could be situations as a boomy/resto where you’re not near the vortex and the increased range could help that
You would first have to understand what Gorefiends grasp is and does and how Vortex works in order to understand how a knock up would take away the quasi grasp
huh? if the knock up passive replaces gale winds passive, you could just take incessant tempest & still have the regular vortex + typhoon combo, no?

I thought the knock back part of typhoon is unaffected by gale winds, isn’t typhoon just a bigger radius/range? the mobs would still need to be in the vortex, which regular typhoon can hit

that would be the intention, so you wouldn’t have to vortex. the mass grip can still be done if you run regular typhoon + incessant tempest at the same value. the mobs still need to be in the vortex, which regular typhoon can hit
could also maybe just make typhoon a choice node for an option of knock up vs knock back, i suppose.

Knock up is great for interrupt. But the grip to stack everyone on top of one another where I want them

If you just want to interrupt without displacing mobs. use roar.
If you want to use typhoon as an interrupt without displacing mobs, use vortex first for pseudo gorefiend. (Imps in CoS)

Vortex only stacks mobs that are already stacked… If you think a 3 yard radius grouping from vortex is somehow comparable to gorefiends…
