Repeated problem with lock pick

I have an ongoing problem with using lockpick on my rogue. Its only a levelling character but every now and then when I log on, I can’t use lockpick.

If I click on the ability, it wont let me select a chest, it just automatically starts the ability and then tells me “invalid target”. I’ve tried reloading, logging off/on and it doesnt fix it. I just to have to wait until the next time at some future date when I log on to the character and it works.

And if anyone tells me its because of add ons, Im just trying it now after the patch with all my add ons disabled and its again refusing to work. Yet when it does work, it works with all the normal add ons going.

I’d really love to know what the go is here.

The last I saw this, it’s because of a weird bug triggered by standing too close to a mailbox. :exploding_head:

Try again after stepping half a dozen steps away from the mailbox.

I’m sure it’s a real bug, but you should be able to avoid its affects if you care to.

I shouldn’t matter if I sit on top of the mailbox, I should be able to unlock using a classic rogue technique!

Regardless of whether it works or not, it is still a bug, and this forum is here to report bugs.

But if you don’t need to suffer unnecessarily, you shouldn’t, because I assure you, the developers are aware of the workaround and almost certainly have de-prioritized fixing this because of that.
