Rep grind required before healing BFD as paladin

While Paladins can heal BFD without Beacon of Light, it is suboptimal which means Paladins will either be denied a raid spot or a Paladin player will care enough about being suboptimal to the point of refusing to be carried by other players who have optimal runes.

How is it acceptable to make holy paladins suboptimal for the new raid until they’ve turned in 9,000 rep worth of supply boxes? Who thought this was good design or a good decision?

Its terrible game design, and I honestly probably wont play my paladin alt because of it :smiling_face_with_tear:

what do paladins gain by rep? im new to rep grind and paladin so any information is good

Beacon of Light

I do think gating Runes behind rep grinds or gold expenses is pretty lame. Compared to the ones you can discover and unlock out playing in the world.

So be a big boy and show everyone you can clear this easy content with a suboptimal build. Unless, of course, you’re a bad player who needs OP fotm builds to even function.

Oh, and Shamans also need the same things to get their healing runes.

It’s all in the OP.

LOL - this is Paladin we’re talking about.

Yeah this was a pretty big disappointment for me.

I thought the runes would be open world discovery.

Not gold sinks.

i’m fine with gold sinks and rep locks in general, but I’m not sure Runes are the right kind of content to lock behind them.

Other than the raid one, they are all found out in the world doing normal world stuff. Its only a gold sink for the day 1 try hards trying to max rep in a few days.
Blizz didnt intend for you to buy everything off the AH lol.

Unless you are talking about the 5g purchase price one, which is crazy cause I easily had 5g by level 20.

The issue is the 9,000 rep from supply boxes, that are hand delivered to Stormwind 1 by 1, not the gold sink. The same boxes that sometimes drop well and sometimes don’t drop for hours. Discovering runes is is a cool idea when implemented well. Gating a required rune behind rep doesn’t involve any discovery.
