Purple tomes are 100
Blue tomes are 50
and Green tomes are sometimes 25 and sometimes 5, is this intended or a bug?
It’s intended. Only for the first few of digs would they give bigger amounts of rep.
After that it diminishes.

here’s what i got today from a big dig earlier:
1st tome: blue - 50 rep
2nd tome: blue - 50 rep
3rd tome: green - 5 rep
4th tome: purple - 100 rep
5th tome: green - 25 rep
if your theory were correct, then the greens would have given less rep for the later tome.

If you need rep just do the WQs and then wait until next week. There is absolutely no rush to grind it all out.

From what I understand, the rep doesn’t award anything of substance.

you are correct, it does not have any rewards. you can buy everything with only the fragments, no rep required.
but i just want the rep maxxed because it actually does count for an exalted rep for the achievement

Heck just get the bonus 5k a week for one dig.
yes i know you get a big bonus for the first of the week with the quest but i don’t mind grinding the rep, i find the big digs enjoyable and relaxing, which is why i do them.

Cool, the reason is the reward is random sometimes. Sometimes when you open a tome you get more things from it to open with more rep.
why are the blue tomes always 50 rep and the purple tomes are always 100 rep then?

Probably because green is crappy.

They are crappy, to be fair you are enjoying the event so why does it matter if they are crappy?

You can post a bug if you feel they should give a static value like: 5 rep

Because it is correct. The rep reward is random. Why it is random no one knows but Blizzard.

it’s actually not correct. the blue tomes always give 50, the purple tomes always give 100.
