Every time one of my characters first logs in on a given day, the first time in game they mount up, I get a message that "you have lost the title “renowned explorer (character name)”.
This has apparently been ongoing for quite some time now.
Not that I personally use that title myself, but it might be a larger annoyance to those who do.
agreed, this happens for both “renowned explorer” and “fearless spectator”. hey blizzard! with all these hotfixes, when are you gonna get around to fixing our titles so they don’t bail on us, huh?

If this bothers you, just turn the titles off within you avatar game settings…
i believe what the players who are ranting about the issue (myself included) want, is for blizzard to fix the issue, because the players that the titles are going on and off for, did the requirements to earn said titles

The first time any of my characters mounts up after logging in.
Same with the Fearless Spectator title, it keeps happening roughly within the first minute of logging in. I thought it was just when I mounted up that caused it, but even avoiding mounting up the title still seems to vanish eventually, mounting up just causes it to instantly vanish.
It’s not gamebreaking, admittedly, but it’s still mildly annoying to see every single time I log in. It’s also a bit sad to see the only acknowledgement on this bug was on the EU forums saying “It eventually comes back!”. Which is fair, but then it just vanishes again eventually too on relogging.
…still happening. It also happens to my druids the first time they shapeshift after logging in.
It’s still happening whenever any of my toons logs in and mounts up or dismounts for the first time.
It’s not just the Renowned Explorer title, you also lose the “Fearless Spectator” title.
This. We were told we would get the title if we took part in the Recruit A Friend program.
It doesn’t really encourage people to recruit friends or sign up for longer subscriptions if we then don’t get to use the titles/cosmetics/whatever we were promised. It’s not too different from bait-and-switch.
Have they at least indicated that they’re aware of the problem and working on it? That would be something, at least.
sadly, no word on a fix from the folks at Blizzard. most likely, the only way Blizzard is gonna do anything about it, is if one of those “community board mvp” users in the forum bring up the issue
