Renown issue? Or im missing something

My wife and i recently came back to wow. We have been leveling our mains together. Doing the same quests and always in group with only us.

We are working on progressing the main quest to unlock the earthen race. Found that we need level 4 rep in all new factions to open quest line.

We are both 80. She plays a Ele Shaman and I a Disc Priest.

I have level 2 with undermine and my wife has level 4. Our renown with the other factions match. How is renown earned if not via quests? I’m trying to figure why there would be such a big disparity.

Maybe im missing something.

I think the single biggest driver for TWW rep is weekly quests (things like the Worldsoul weeklies, the Azj-kahet weekly meta, etc.)

The weekly “run a dungeon” quest awards a chunk of rep for one faction of your choosing, and can be completed in Follower Dungeons if you wish.

there is no rep requirement for Earthen. And I unlocked Earthen months ago, before Undermine even started. So how are you gated by rep?

 

 

How is your rep different? I can’t know, from what you’ve said. If you have truly done EVERYTHING together, there can’t really be a difference. So maybe you haven’t.

Farming The Cartels of Undermine Renown in the War Within

You can farm Cartels of Undermine Renown by completing several tasks to earn Reputation around Undermine.

  • Completing World Quests in Undermine as they spawn;
    • World Quests in Undermine only show up after you pick a Cartel for the week. World Quests grant 50 Cartels of Undermine. The Undermine special assignments give 200 Cartels of Undermine reputation.

 

 

  • Killing rare mobs in Undermine;
    • Undermine rare mobs give you daily reputation - Normal rares give 20 reputation, Elite rares give 50 reputation, Cartel summoned rares give 100 reputation.

 

  • Completing questlines in Undermine;
    • Storyline questlines give you 2500 Cartels of Undermine reputation per chapter, and side quests give 100-200 Cartels of Undermine each.

 

  • Completing Side Gig quests.
    • Side Gig quests are picked up at Slam Central Station. Each Side Gig quest grants 50 Cartels of Undermine reputation.

I’d check your credit for storylines, and your weeklies completion.

Level4 rep - per Blizz in game quest info, level 4 rep is needed to complete the war within campaing quests, which it says is needed to complete the earthen acheivement.
More rep-Maybe she is killing more mobs than me in undercity. But it seems like a lot of kills.

Maybe it was rng of rep amount in delves.

Idk. Either way ill have to grind it out to unlock the quest line.

I can believe that for the original TWW reps, but I cannot believe you need Renown 4 in Undermine. Undermine didn’t exist when I got my Earthen.

yes, my guess is delves. idk how many bountiful delves you all did but they give a large amount of rep and its rng the order you get them in. so its possible she got Undermine rep early and you all didnt do 5 bountiful delves to get all keys
