Just make the void elves call themselves high elves. High elves community will never be satisfied unless blizzard does this.

The high elf community needs to hush and accept that you don’t always get everything you want in life. Blizz has already compromised to a great degree.
Asking for more changes is just being unreasonable and nitpicky at this point.

Why don’t we just have some kind of belf/velf renunciation ceremony and they can be renamed high elves.
However, a few high elves did not rename themselves blood elves. High elves and blood elves are physiologically the same race, and the difference between high and blood elves is only political

Nah, changing void elves shouldn’t be an option, but adding them is always a good thing as there are high elves since tbc that were never corrupted by mana addiction and never lost the blue eyes for green. They are always friendly to alliance so it’s not lore breaking.
I think they would need to unlock more class options for races first though (preferably all classes for every race) and get rid of any percent boosting racials

To my knowledge, only one high elf became a void elf… Allaria.
The rest is somewhat broken… seems the confusion really begins because void elves are some recolored blood elf models… further adding confusion, Allaria visited the blood elves, her former homeland, and the Sunwell had a nasty reaction to the void.
Yes, obviously some blood elves chose to become void elves… perhaps it’s just my own confusion, but where is it that only blood elves can become void elf’s… seems any elf could, outside of game mechanics, seems any race could be void. At least any race that can shadow priest.
Obviously the long ears is a giveaway… but otherwise, any race, individual that can resist the temptations of the void, ought to be able to try.
One of you peeps more invested with the lore care to educate explain why void elves are drawn from blood elves, or high elves.

The core of VEs (Umbric and co) were BEs who played with the void, got kicked out of Silvermoon for endangering the Sunwell, kept playing, got themselves in a purple pickle, and were saved by Alleria.
As far as creating more VEs, I haven’t heard if it’s still possible lore-wise. Alleria and Umbric’s posse both ended void-touched through pretty unique circumstances so it might not exactly be an easily-repeatable process.
If it is possible to make more, remember that a lot of the reason the BE/HE split occured was because HEs were opposed to the more reckless and what they considered dangerous paths BEs took to survive after the Sunwell broke. There’s no functional reason they couldn’t become VEs if BEs can but they’d be less likely too want to do so culturally.

One of the strangest aspects to MMOs I’ve learned is that we are both few and many.
Few in lore, but many in game. Unlike SP games. You are the last dragonborn; not dragonborn #4,578,675-abc
Asking the entire race to be renamed is just unfair to Void Elf fans, what few there are.

Speaking as someone that has wanted High Elves, and would like to see the necessary customizations and options to finish making them available through Void Elves…
How about we don’t?
There are people that genuinely LIKE Void Elves. I even want more Void customization options for them to enjoy. I’ll never use them, but if they make others happy, that’s enough for me.
There isn’t a reason to change the name of the race. You may as well change the racials and recruitment questline and home base and heritage armor while you’re at it, and I don’t see the point.

I love void elves but at this point i’m ready for Blizz to just take a nuke to the rest of the High Elves on alliance, the void elves and i’ll just go back to horde.

Because Void Elves were cosmically changed on a drastic scale - they’re no longer High Elves or Blood Elves.
Blood Elves & High Elves can be eachother because the name difference is moreorless political / to respect the fallen against Arthas.
On the case of Void Elves they were dubbed a new people on the changes that incurred to them. They’re no longer more High Elves than the Dark Trolls are Night Elves or that the Nightborne are Night Elves.
