At this point if I was Blizzard I’d disable the skin tones for Void Elves and ban all posters who asked for new racials, specs and names.

That’s the problem though. They need to be explained better. Any race could “research the void” and have a “void-related accident”. Are the gnomes in Nyalotha “Void Gnomes?” They aren’t interesting enough to warrant their position, and Blizzard hasn’t done anything about it.
Them showing up and memeing a bit in the war-campaign doesn’t mean anything, they need to be featured.

Yes, but that was unlikely then, and even less likely now. Void Elves need to stay Void Elves, all Blizzard did was expand on what they can look like.

They can be, but that was never a staple of High Elf thematics. Rangers and magisters are High Elf staples. Void Elves can be hunters and mages, so that theme remains playable.

Hoo boy. I thought that people were finally done sticking their heads in the sand when it came to high elves now that we are officially getting them, but it appears we still have a group of people that are just firmly against other players having any kind of fun at all and will continue to try and split hairs over them.

Wouldn’t fix the issue I’m afraid, there would be those calling for blood as they do like the Void elf aesthetic, and or they didn’t get the eyebrows just right on High elves.
That’s what I do but you can’t deny that Power Word Shield has Light based aesthetic to it or levitate to name a couple.
I get where you’re coming from but at the end of the day Void Elves were first created to be the High Elf compromise and they failed at that. They don’t have a real background. Their backstory is pretty hollow. They’re popular because they’re currently the closest option players have to playing High Elves. It’s a pretty safe assumption that as soon as the High Elf aesthetic is open to the players it’s going to overtake the Void Elf theme.
Again, I feel bad for true Void Elf players but this is the card that has been dealt by blizzard. The flood gates have been opened.
