And yea I don’t care one way or another. Why? Because I know it gives mm better class identity and if I want to play with a pet, as a hunter main, I know I have 2 other specs to fall back on.
That is being a realist. That’s not being a troll. Thats how adults work. We don’t throw tantrums, gaslight and berate people for having a different opinion.
And disagreeing with people doesn’t give you a right to call them a troll nor does it make that accurate. That has been said numerous times by blues.

Youre fine to not want mm pets removed, thats a valid opinion but this is poor reasoning for it.
Replacing one rpg element with another different element is not stripping identity from the spec… If anything its ADDING to it by having more differences between the specs.
Personally im fine with the change, i realize many arent, but lets not pretend your argument is anything other than “i dont like it”

Removing pets from MM fulfills a better “archer” fantasy the spec has going, if anything it’s more RP friendly

Tbh thats how I expected mm to play back in wrath.
The whole ranger theme has been missing. Especially as a big wc2 and wc3 fan. Was definitely odd.
Compare ALL of the potential pets that MM can tame right now and how it works (you summon it, you can direct it, it can fetch and so on) to the eagle. It is a net loss as an “RPG element” no matter how it is measured. A player can go tame an eagle right now and it objectively has more substance than the pseudo pet eagle. The tiny blip of an appearance that the eagle makes currently could actually be stripped from the proposed changes and it wouldn’t even matter, but that can’t be said of locking MM out of traditional pets.
As for comparing one spec against another… They said that hunters are defined by having a pet, which seems to trump this notion that MM shouldn’t have pets.

Not true.
Uses her bow as a staff in melee, so… not a MM at all.
Dual wields and moves into melee, not something MM can do.
The Dark Ranger Hero Tree is largely based on him and his hounds. It is available to MM.
Tyrande is also a priest and while the Night Warrior, looked more like demon hunter in terms of abililities.

Blizz says lots of things that they fail and/or never intend to live up to. Stated goals are made because they sound good to players. Pay attention instead to their actions.

Im literally playing bm and have for the past 10 years. Pretty wild claim to make against someone who has also been a hunter main for 15 years.
And have said numerous times how much I love my spider and how I make it a point to retame her across all my hunters.
You just make wild assumptions and false statements to paint people in a negative light.
But that’s all you have. False claims, condescending tone and statements. Anything to be heard and try and make others look bad.

There is no buts here, it is a fact, period.
Spec is part of the class, therefore, a fantasy of the class is part of the fantasy of the spec as well.
It is how it works
A hunter can exist without a pet, marksmaship is not defined by it, they had the choice to not play with one.

Its one less appearance choice but its hardly removing hunter identity. And again, its fine to not like it. So dont like it. ( And for what its worth, you still have an animal companion, just not one you pick, that behaves differently. 0 class identity impact)
If part of the class identity is tame pets and control then, it does impact the identity of the class
It literally removes player agency and utility

Not so much “One appearance choice less”, but outright removal of a path of player expression and association to the class. Claiming they’ll expand choice in the future is something Blizzard has a rocky road on actually following through on. Effectively they’re taking away tame beast now, to give it back to us later (allegedly) and with some implied expected fanfare. No thanks.
So many things they said they’d do, they still haven’t done. Glyphs are embarrassingly underutilized.
Unless you’re a dwarven marksman who is tied to your bear. Why should Highmountain Taurens and Kul Tirans have their identities respected. Why should the other 14 races not be represented?
I despise pets and strictly play LW. This is a welcome change.

Every xpac I give it an honest go.
Heck I ran as mm in m+ in sl with the 200k gold spec legos just to see.
Its been clunky and not fun for me. And the pet was more of an annoyance for mm unlike surv and bm, aside from the obvious pathing problems.
And Im not deciding anything. Blizzard is. Im just excited for the change, especially after testing it on the ptr, which I know many of the complainers haven’t even tried.
Who is strawmaning now?

There is no twisting, pet is part of the hunter class, they said themselves, they even said they are going to make MM “reembrace” a pet, albeit an nontraditional one, because a pet is a core part of the class

Hunters having pets is a part of the identity. Hunters having access to different kinds of pets for different reasons has been at the core of the pet, which is actually part of the contention now because they decided to concoct Lone Wolf. If you take away the variety and the mechanical system you are in fact subtracting from the hunter identity. The thing they are replacing it with is not equal to what we have now.
