What benefits? This is literally insane. Players are actually talking about less loot being a good thing.
Why would I want to go back to a system, that had me clear Mt. Hyjal 30ish times without Cata’s Edge, and no comparable item to replace it…

Except it doesn’t do that. You could have all three pieces with trash secondary stats.
Bonus rolls allow for player agency in choosing which bosses to try and get extra loot from.
The Great Vault is a step down in player agency. That is an objective truth.
Removing bonus rolls is a bad thing.
Change my mind.
the good part of this “no bonus rolls” thing is that you wont have to reply “sorry it was bonus loot, can’t trade” ever again , heh.
nah they want less loot to make you play more and show shareholders more time spent, what they don’t know is that will make people log on less.
Wait, people are using anything other than war resources on rerolls?
No argument here.
You are a thread where multiple players are saying this is a good thing. Blizzard is literally responding to feedback.
The wrong feedback, but it’s still feedback.
No it doesn’t. It gives you a choice of 3, not a choice amongst 3 assured upgrades with correct stats.
Not really, no. In one system you get some degree of direct choice in the loot you get. The other you get to limit the item pool you’re drawing from, but this is less direct agency.
Nah, loot is completely over saturated to comical levels in the modern day. Getting 10 epic loot pieces a day just to vendor/DE all of them completely waters down the core gameplay loop of MMO RPGs.
You have failed to change my mind.
Not everyone does every type of activity.
And didn’t they remove gear as a reward for WQ emissaries?
How could you possibly think this?
Bonus Rolls = Choose specific bosses
Great Vault = Good luck getting the item you want from a pool of 10 bosses.
The Great Vault is objectively a step down from Bonus Rolls.
Without looking, I can bet most of those players are LFR types and casuals who have never actually optimized and targeted drops using Bonus rolls.
In a guild, on a fight like Ashvane, everyone would bonus roll for the Coral, and only after bonus rolls had gone out, would the loot be assigned.
Yeah, because it drops from WQs and emissaries, and Warfronts, and Weekly event boxes for doing trivial dungeons, and other super casual content that rewards Heroic raid level epics.
Not because of the core Mythic+/Raid/Bonus rolls loot.
Plus it requires a full clear of Castle Nathria to even give you the 3 item choices. Otherwise, you don’t get 3.
Well now I might not have to port back to the capital city after I get to the raid because I forget bonus rolls, LOL!
I personally feel like bonus rolls were a band-aid to a much bigger problem with loot.
I’m glad they are gone.
I’m ok with it. Bonus rolls were great in like, MoP where you either got gear or gold. Bonus rolls for AP make me so mad it’s not even funny. honestly I’m alright with gear scarcity, it incentivizes me to do like… more actual content. I hope Shadowlands is actually fun, I miss MMO Raiding and I refuse to do it in FFXIV.
It’s not even that complicated. I killed ashvane 14 (9 heroic, 5 mythic) times before I looted a coral. Now they want to make it harder to get loot, to remove rng?
Bonus rolls werent good, the cost was way too weighted for the reward. Even with bad luck protection, getting 100 gold or a basic world quest worth of azerite was not a good trade-off for spending 2000g per roll.
They were essentially free extra chances at loot. How were the costs even an issue ?
Dude, lol. 750 ressources.
