Remove world buffs from raids

it’s massively different in terms of scale. in OG vanilla yeah there was probably a few guys who caught on to WBs being super OP in raids but 99% of the community had no idea :expressionless:

To the people that think some streamers opinion matters just uninstall the game and maybe just watch their stream and live through them.

In Vanilla, World Buffs were something you got sometimes but most of the time you were doing bosses without them even in a progression raiding guild. I kind of think consumables are a bigger problem, as the amount and cost of them is really unhealthy and driving people towards buying gold.

Should they change it? If there is another seasonal server then I would encourage Blizzard to just remove world buffs from the game. Put in the TBC limits for buffs and consumables. For Classic Anniversary it probably doesn’t make sense to change it even if it would be an improvement.

They just need to limit it you can have A world buff not 7+

100% agree with this
a classic server without world buffs will be more interesting, raids will be more fun without world buffs.

on a side note, the current buff limits is not the same as original vanilla & even in original vanilla mid game the buff limit was less than what it was in patch 1.11

people who never played vanilla in first few months have no idea that even if u got worldbuffs, a priest renew shield / druid hots will remove all those buffs from you.

But 1 year into vanilla with aq release and many revamps to the core game system top guilds for certain aq boss’s they was stuck at after alot of tries they collected Dragonslayer and sometimes Spirit of Zandalar if possible to get a better shot after they practiced the fight. but they never went out of their ways to fully have them all.

Note that the whole difference between 2005 and 2025 is “20years ago you was progressing new encounter” But Now “you are playing while knowing the encounter and already have too many tools to help you during it”
the majority of player base back then never bothered about having consumes because they wipe in progression so some of them was saying no point in using consumes untill we practice the fight first, do u think they would bother to get buffs when they know they will lose it 10min inside raid?

and when tbc hits and during kara/mag/grull/ssc/tk more people was realizing how powerful world buffs is so they started raiding with them, and once Blizzard realized that raids are being trashed because the borrowed power “world buffs” is…they disabled them from all raids.

summary: big numbers is fun for sure, i play diablo to see +11 digit crit numbers, But face rolled content is never good to the game, a slight challenge is a desire! classic without world buffs will be way better game.

Even Summit1G was complaining? That known classic wow officionado? That’s crazy bro! Lets change classic wow for Summit1G guys!

his opinion is just as valid as anyone’s :expressionless:

Including all the people who enjoy world buffs.

Glad we got that sorted.

it seems like the people who are against WBs in raids are more thoughtful and intelligent with their arguments though :expressionless: something to think about

Yes that is very interesting.

Actually I always felt it seemed the only people that were against world buffs came across simply as not willing to put any effort to raid, they and simply wanted people to carry them to free epics while they grey parsed, which is why most of them are also against logging and many dislike add-ons. There was never anything intelligent about their arguments, if anything its exactly the opposite.

The sad part is the anti buff group, often wont even put effort into looking for a guild or raid that doesn’t require world buffs and consumes, they just assume it can’t be done. Literarily sitting in SW/Org for about 30 minutes is all you have to do to find a non buff requiring raid, listing in LFG, there were a number of pug dad guild raids that were desperate for people, I think most would take anyone with a pulse if you fit the roll needed, and most didn’t care if people were buffed, which was easy to confirm just by asking if they required raiders to have full world buffs, the answer almost every time was no.

We’ve already destroyed your arguments for world buffs in raids.

Can you go play the game now or something.

I thought you really enjoyed it?

You haven’t done anything but show me your to lazy to sit in org/sw to get buffs, or listen to LFG and find a raid that doesn’t require world buffs.

Wouldn’t raids where nobody has world buffs be harder? Wouldn’t those players have to exert more effort to clear raids than players with world buffs?

I’ve seen other people characterizing collecting world buffs as “easy,” so people who don’t want to do it are “lazy.”

Couldn’t you say that world buff players are the “lazy” ones, doing an “easy” task outside of the raid itself to make the raid easier to clear?

Just a thought. I think we can all predict the responses to this idea based on which side of the argument respondents are on, but it feels to me that this is just a shifting of where the effort is exerted, rather than one or the other side being “lazy.”

Yes in fact it would make the game harder and require more effort.

This person is just hypocritical and will say whatever to make number go up on his screen.

He has no rational arguments.

His entire argument = number go up good

LOL

“people who like WB in raids are more skilled” argument falls flat when you couldn’t even do your stupid meta without muh easy mode chronoboons :expressionless:

I still think it would be funny to offer extra loot for raids with no world buffs.

The best part is it wouldn’t change anything about the game world buff players currently enjoy. It wouldn’t affect them at all!

That’s a great idea.

Just offer more loot if no one has world buffs.

I mean you can play however you want right. If you want world buffs you just get less loot for making the raid easier.

It’s a win win.

I’m sure people will keep using world buffs because they enjoy them so much and not extra loot.
