Blizzard, it’s time to reconsider how summoning works in Classic. Removing Warlock summons and instead fully enabling Summoning Stones would bring multiple benefits to the game:
Why This Change is Needed:
- Reduces RMT/Bot Activity: Warlock summons enable bots and gold sellers to streamline their services, making it easier for them to operate without actually traveling. Removing this system would disrupt their efficiency.
- Cuts Down on LFG Spam: Right now, LFG chat is flooded with endless summon requests. This change alone would remove 90% of that clutter, making it easier to find real groups.
- Encourages Travel & World Interaction: Summoning Stones require at least two players to physically fly or run to the stone, promoting actual movement across the world instead of instant teleportation.
Other Positive Aspects:
- Balances Responsibility: Right now, Warlocks are often pressured to handle summons for entire groups. (Even With there closet) This adjustment would shift the summoning burden onto the whole team, making travel more of a collective effort.
- Preserves Convenience Without Making Travel Obsolete: Summoning Stones still allow groups to bring in members efficiently, but they require an active effort from multiple players rather than a single Warlock handling everything.
- Supports Guild Coordination: With Summoning Stones in place, guilds organizing raids would have a more structured approach to gathering their team, instead of relying on individual Warlocks for last-minute summons.
Final Thoughts
Summoning Stones already exist—they just need to be fully enabled to replace Warlock summons. This would make traveling and preparing for raids more immersive and balanced, while cutting down on exploitative systems like bot activity.
Blizzard, please consider this adjustment—it would clean up LFG spam, improve world interaction, and make summoning feel like a shared responsibility rather than an expectation placed on Warlocks alone.
Let’s make world travel meaningful again!
