Remove warcraft logs and damage meters. The game has become too toxic.
What happened? You get kicked? Not accepted?
Thats no to both. Never been kicked nor have i not been accepted.
damage meters have been in the game since vanilla, they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
as far as Warcraft Logs goes, that also isn’t going anywhere seeing as how the last time blizzard had issues with a 3rd party system used to put a numerical score on players it was baked into the game.
To do that they’d need to change how the combat log worked and that’s too much work for the little amount of people that find damage meters “toxic”.
Just don’t run with people who care so much about doing damage and not mechanics. A 5 year old can get good DPS logs. A 5 year old is also going to wipe your raid 8 times for the same mechanic. Logs are only useful for the end of a phase, when its on farm and you only need people doing high DPS.
There’s nothing inherently toxic about damage meters. If you’re running into issues regarding them consistently enough that you need to make a topic complaining about them, then you probably are the problem and need to figure out why you’re performing poorly
I suggest starting with a damage meter so you can see what sort of dps you’re actually doing
It’s a pipe dream… But I can see why the OP would want this… People want to use that data to bludgeon others over the head… While it’s against the TOS contract you clicked in order to play players will still find ways to get this data and flame others.
whats the context.
Click the Battle.net icon in the top left of the launcher. Click Account. Click Privacy and Communications. Scroll down to Game Data And Profile Privacy, click Update next to it. Uncheck Share Game Data. Click Save. Bam, now you cant be ranked on Warcraft Logs.
They just have to disable “advanced combat logging”. It’s literally flipping a switch.
It’s human nature. Without logs they used to check ur gear in stormwind outside the auction house. It never ends.
You’re not getting rid of sweaty players who cry thenselves to sleep each night they’re not in full bis.
Just find a casual guild and ignore the people who think killing heroic Rag week 1 will undo their divorce.
I appreciate the responses. The point is I’m finding people who absolutely do not know how to play their class and it’s frustrating. They care about one thing and one thing alone and that’s being at the top of the meters. They don’t help with adds, they do not shear, silence, counterspell, spellsteal, sheep, frog, pummel, kick, strangle, etc.,…because it would cause them a global. It makes running even low level content miserable because they know nothing about CC. Then again most of them don’t even speak english so that adds another aggravation. I remember when we used to clear content and it was pleasant. Even on the toughest of fights. Now even the fastest of clears are miserable…everyone’s miserable. Removing meters and logs would make people focus on content and do the mechanics while playing their class.
I run dps meters and my guild logs, I have no issues interrupting or CCing. You are just having some bad luck with a couple of people, but not every dps is like this.
Also don’t expect any Shadow Priest to use silence, if they are following the talent builds suggested by guides, Shadow doesn’t spec into Silence.
It is super frustrating when you run into toxic ppl and ppl who both don’t know the finer points of their class AND don’t speak english (or just don’t acknowledge communication as a key part of a team-based game). I basically built a guild around avoiding those people lol
Damage meters and WCL are a tool. They should be used as such. But some people like to abuse the tools and instead of using them to benefit people use them to destroy this is common in human nature. It sucks but its true. Gotta take the good with the bad.
why would they remove warcraftlogs when blizzard literally has combat logging built into the game. Do you mean the parse part of warcraft logs?
You’re in a very tiny minority of people who would actually prefer that.
I acknowledge that meters and logs can lead to toxic behavior among people. However, they are tools that can be utilized for both positive and negative purposes. It’s unfortunate that some individuals misuse these tools for toxic behavior. Yet, there are those who use them constructively to enhance their skills as raiders or players, examining the logs to identify areas for improvement, assessing their damage output, and comparing their performance with others.
