Remove War Mode

Hi, Ill go directly to the point. War mode is totally unfair because of unbalance ratio population faction and dont talk to me about cross server it is just doesnt work. I play alliance on zul jin since several years. When im questing I see generally 5 horde for 1 ally. War mode is a candy for horde , easy free bonus as a peice of cake but for alliance it is a constant risk to be gank and overflow by 3-4 horde on you. This is just totally unfair. The more horde pop grow , the more easy to win pvp , get free bonus then more people know this then more people go play horde. Then horde player scream with passion ‘‘you see horde is better’’ no, you just have more pop on your side. It is a vicious circle.

So, ban WPvP? Sounds good.

Thats not the point no matter I play world pvp or not it still unfair for everybody that play alliance and an easy bonus for horde. ANy rule that give an advantage to a faction should not exist that is ridiculous

Short of forcing people to be a particular faction, How do you think it could be changed?
Blizzards been trying to figure out faction balance for 15 years. If you have a better solution, they would be interested in hearing it.

If you dont like warmode, turn it off, thats why its able to be toggled. If you say you want the extra rewards for having it on, then put it on understanding you will probably be ganked, also its more than likely your server group, I have played on multiple other servers where alliance is dominated on the server and horde get ganked in the same manner. Your point is invalid with you having the option to ignore it. If you feel you deserve the rewards (10 or 25% increase xp gain, etc), and you dont feel you should have to pvp to get them, then you are whats wrong with this game. Learn to pvp or turn warmode off and go play pve with other pve players. Most players will likely start talking smack to you for this opinion. Honestly, this is better than the previous version anyways, seeing as how if you were on a pvp server, you were essentially screwed, oh, and did I mention on the old system there was no increase to exp or anything? You literally had to deal with the likelihood you were going to get ganked, unless you transferred to a pve or rp server. Either get better at pvp, or stop complaining, because nobody cares.

One other thing, If the server is dominated on horde, alliance get 25% xp increase, if its dominated alliance, horde gets it, and if its even, you get 10%, check your war mode % and youll actually see that chances are, youre getting ganked at a low level in a particular zone

Of course opinions from Horde player… as if we try to remove a candy from child hand and not a single true argument. ‘‘If you dont like turn it oFF’’ seriously?

How about an opinion from someone who has mained Alliance since Vanilla? If you don’t like Warmode, toggle it off. The amount of Alliance players that play with WM off is disappointing but I still think that Warmode is the only good feature that BfA introduced. I just wish that they would expand on it and disable flying in Warmode, at least for current content.

You seem to think posting characters equate to main characters - seriously?

Warmode has a toggle for good reason. If you’re not enjoying this option, you can turn it off.

Why yes Rockford… it’s so you can progress 30% slower than griefers.

The existence of warmode is a problem. The bonus rewards for pve content for pvp for warmode are even more of a problem.

I agree that war mode should be removed, although my reasons are a little different than the original poster:

  1. Warmode gives very substantial pve rewards for pvp content. This fundamentally forces pve players to engage in world-pvp with warmode in order to get those rewards. If the rewards weren’t so massive, maybe it would be more reasonable…but as it is, it feels terrible to be so slow progressing because you don’t want to participate in a world-pvp gankfest.

  2. Warmode rewards players for griefing. There’s no way around this - wow’s world pvp is nothing but a #'s game - 5v1 being the most common number. There’s no real competitive world pvp, the # of players in the ganksquad will always overrule anything remotely resembling skill.

  3. Even if you do get a 1v1, that boils down to a rock-paper-scissors of which class you are. A mage that can hit for 300k in a GCD on their opening attack will probably win every 1v1 they get into. There’s maybe 5 viable classes in pvp at any given time, and the other 5 are just going to get dumpstered because the balance for pvp in this game is awful. Just watch any of the arena tournament if you don’t realize this yet - you’ll rapidly see some classes are hideously disadvantaged.

Anyway… 3 very good reasons to get rid of the dumpster fire that is warmode. No one that I’ve seen has yet given a single good reason for keeping it, other than Blizzard’s desire to stick to bad decisions.

Then instead of calling to remove Warmode (as it has replaced PvP/PvE server options), you should consider these reward structures.

So you decide to remove all world PvP, since there are no PvP servers.

Look towards Classic’s PvP servers, their issues with griefing, how it is rewarded, and consider the notion that is a social issue.

Hey, if they just turn off the bonus rewards for warmode so it’s no longer incentivized with massive PVE rewards, that would be fine by me. My complaint about warmode isn’t that it exists as a world-PVP mode - it’s that it gets massive PVE rewards for no reason. If people actually wanted to do world PVP for the sake of doing world PVP, they wouldn’t need this huge bonus reward structure on top of the regular PVP rewards. People would do it because they actually wanted to (Except they don’t).

It still seems kinda silly to make PVE and PVP players invisible to each other, thus splitting the playerbase even on the same server though.
