Just stop being bad at life
You level up vigor becomes less of a problem. You’re basically saying remove levelling and questing no longer becomes a problem. It’s not that hard once you get used to it.
They live to whine about stuff.
You do it ONCE. The dragonriding glyphs are shared across all your toons.
MMOs are not pausible games, if you want to stop you exit or hearthstone. I like the momentum based flying.
I haven’t had any issue with vigor at all. I’m an herbalist and stop for every single flower I see. No issue getting back up in the air. No waiting. I also have the whole tree unlocked and chose the talent that regens vigor while gathering.
I don’t think Vigor should be removed, as it’s not really a problem once you have your Dragon Riding maxed out. But it would be a huge QoL fix if the initial take off didn’t cost vigor.
This is not going to resolve itself, and apparently won’t go away either. The folks that are saying no dragonriding know exactly what it is and what it is not. And what it is not is what they want. They want to hover, pick herbs easily, solve jump puzzles, their earned mounts, and so on.
It’s not that freaking hard y’all. Some people are NEVER going to appreciate Dragonriding.
But those people are wrong, and are on the wrong side of history. The devs created a beautiful system where you can actually navigate the islands on sight alone, can’t usually control it well enough to trivialize content, and can easily travel. It’s great.
So for those of you who (incorrectly) want Dragonriding removed, understand that if you have your way, Blizzard developers will put in content gates, Pathfinders, and other controls to penalize you. Maybe a small compromise like removing Vigor is enough for some people, I hope, but fully powered up it’s not so bad.
Now choose. Dragonriding, new infamiliarity, and Blizzard supporting you. Old flying, penalties, and timegates. Yes, it is a loaded question. Because the answer has already been provided to you by Blizzard. Some people are just not agreeing - and there’s nothing so stupid and pointless - as disagreeing with the team that makes the game.
I greatly disliked dragonriding at first, but now I find it fun. It’s much better once you have nearly the whole talent tree filled, and once you have more experience with the system in general. But I still think the accessibility could be improved. That way more people could easily partake in the system, or simply have another way to get around.
Vigor basically becomes infinite with the tree unlocked (which you only have to do ONCE for your ENTIRE account, and it takes like 30 minutes). I can literally fly from one side of the isles to the other without ever landing.
DragonRiding just needs more models or customization options need to be expanded/easier to obtain. Otherwise, lord it is so amazing. I hate having to go back to the old world for anything because I can’t use my DR mount.
Blizz has been known to cave to feedback on plenty of occasions. Really no reason for people to stop trying. Even if the system stays (which obviously it will through DF) complaints may lead to changes that help people who don’t care for it.
I love that people can’t even agree on how long this takes. 30 minutes? 2 hours? Maybe Blizz could put up a leaderboard for some bragging rights on who can do it fastest.
Try to remember starting on a ground mount, trying to find a way up, or around, or threw an area, just terrible.
DR is annoying for like an hour, then you level it up and can do whatever you want.
Git gud I believe is the term
Try to remember cataclysm when you could just fly off rip and everyone won. Could totally have just had that again.
Right, but you’re in a thread where a serious number of people really like Dragonriding.
When you’re split 50/50 and voting against the devs, you don’t have a great case. Sometimes we have to make a judgment call (you do, I do), and weigh the preponderance of evidence, and that’s why I am convinced this is not to be revisited much (except questions about when/where old mounts can be used in DF).
On the other hand, they probably don’t have an answer for whether to retrofit old zones yet - so everyone may be right in some context.
I mean… the HandyNotes addon literally marks every single one of them on the map. -shrugs- They’re not hard to get when something tells you exactly where they are.
Oh I do. Pathfinder is a demon that needed to die after WoD, at least the gating of flying part. As that didn’t happen I was sticking with more recent expansions as a comparison.
Meh, e-peen contests are as old as the world. Only I am right. And I think it’s closer to that 2 hours – on my first character, not having done beta, and without speed running guides.
Ok? A serious number of people liking something has historically never been an indicator of it actually being good and small numbers of opposition have always been important for turning the tide on things that the majority of people liked.
Of course that usually peevs the majority because how dare anyone dislike what they like, which sounds pretty much like your take in this.
Yeah, I like Dragonriding.
But that’s not my major point. I’m old, I’ve had jobs where decisions get made, and we all have to follow orders. It’s not fun, but sometimes we don’t win the battle. That is all.
I try not to fight against things I don’t have a direct stake in controlling, directing, deciding.
I will say though I really like dragonriding a lot more than regular flight as mines been maxed since day 1, they need to drastically increase the time vigor takes to recover when on the ground.
Also for those of you struggling if you are not scared of add-ons then get the dragonriding weak aura because it literally guides you on a path with a huge arrow to each one of the glyphs needed to upgrade flying, it takes about an hour or so to get them all.
