Remove useless items from raid loot table + about more consistent rewards

The point of this post is to bring awareness to the fact that several pieces of gear from the BFD raid are straight up awful items that nobody would take for any reason.

Okay, as someone who has raided in TBC, I feel pretty patient when it comes to gear. Even with 3 day lockouts, it feels bad when the boss drops the same useless items nobody wants 4 raids in a row. There’s certain items nobody wants. Wasting everyone’s time in a phase of a season that is already short to begin with.

Not only do we have to deal with beating other players on a roll (if rolling), we also need to hope the game drops the item at all.

This is the basis for an intermittent reinforcement pattern (just like all the chance on drop quest items) that makes people go crazy. Random chance at reward despite putting in substantial effort.

Now understandably, the whole WoW chain is built on chance. So to solve this would be re-inventing the wheel.

This brings us to the point, perhaps more consistent and predictable rewards be an actual healthy thing for everyone in the wow community.
Although that limited chance of getting something is what adds to the prestige of getting a difficult to obtain item.

Please make the gear that drops in the future actually worth it. Or maybe place a second separate loot table with those bad items, that drop as well as the other gear.

gasp

But surely that “Damage by pets is increased by 1%” ring is totally worth it /s

Yeah loot was done terribly for BFD.

At a minimum, 3 items should drop per boss. This is a short phase where gear competition is fierce due to limited armor types.

Next, they really need to do something about the fact that the loot tables are so large, not only this, the same items can drop off different bosses. I just had a run with with 3 leather intellect helms dropping in total off 3 bosses

Furthermore, epic drop rate is too low. I have run every run possible since day 2on main, and our group still hasn’t seen an epic drop. Not one. 10 raiders with dozens of kills, 0 epics.

I would be fine with such loot tables if the rest of the gear wasn’t insanely powercrept to the point that a lot of stuff is bis until phase 2 raid.

Loot scarcity is a feature.

If everyone is bis, nobody is bis.

Enjoy the items you get, and when you finally get that items you wish for - you’ll be extra happy.

How many runs is that? I also haven’t seen any epics and I think I only missed the first 3 day lockout. Everyone else around me all seem to have the hydra sword tho -_-

That’s a meme item that doesn’t take up a drop, it’s bonus loot like the Gelihast bag.
