Same. And it feels awful when an item has a high titanforge with stats you weren’t even looking for. To me there was far more value doing the content for the gear that you’re looking for and getting the drop and being happy with it. And if they want to add a form of longevity to the system then they could create a currency system for upgrading your gear pieces.
I’ll agree with not making VP drops “forgeable” as long as I can earn enough per week to match my current WF/TF upgrade potential through means that doesn’t require pre-made grouping. I average about 10 item levels on individual pieces a week, so if a +5 upgrade costs 500 VP, I need to be able to earn 1000VP by doing the things I do now. And all this assumes the current drop item levels continue. I’m all for a deterministic system as long as I can improve at the same speed i can now with the current WF/TF and catchup process. Otherwise I’m just giving things up for someone else’s benefit.
Skill versus time played means the skilled person gets there faster and can enjoy it longer, not that the lesser skilled can’t get there at all. At least that’s what it takes to keep me playing and paying. And as of now, blizz thinks the same thing.
I’m not sure what you mean by pre made groups? Do you mean like m+ and normal+ raids? If so that’s fine. If you’re saying that you want to be rewarded the same as others who do Random BGs, WQs, dungeons, raids (even LFR), and all the content the game has to offer then I wouldn’t call that fair at all. That’s you literally asking to be rewarded the same as someone whose playing 80% of the game while your only playing 10%. Personally that doesn’t make sense to me and doesn’t sound fair to anyone that isn’t you but this is a different conversation.
If we’re going with the system I talked about VP would drop from everything. World quests, dungeons (normal and above), raids (LFR and above), random BGs, etc. Incursions can give VP too. You’d set your own pace and you’d determine when you can upgrade your gear assuming that there is no cap or the cap is high.
That’s what I find funny about WF/TF, it is literally just another time played metric system which people “apparently” abhor.
Yet in this case it’s defended.
How come noone is for Blizzard giving them “more content to do” in the form of Allied Race grinds instead of getting them instantly unlocked?
Or, maybe… instead of putting these crappy, unfun systems that are designed only to get people to log in and chase the carrot, they could actually make a good game so people would want to log in.
