To each is own but I still don’t understand why people post “I Quit” threads yet in their post they say, “taking a break”. So why the need to post or why even have a title of I quit?
There is nothing to do with WoW Classic in my post. This is a genuine complain about the lore.
Good eye, good eye!!!
See you in 8.3.
This is so infuriating to read. This post has nothing to do with WoW Classic. You can’t just boil down every complaint about the game to Classic trolling.
It isn’t believable
A fantasy genre… isn’t believable. ok.
the Warcraft type stories and adventures we’re used to and not this weird stuff.
What is “Warcraft type stories”?
What is “this weird stuff”?
You forget , mods can see your edits …
If the game is fun why care about lore? Never get your hopes up on a video game storyline.
Why not just make your own story with your own alt if you must have a story attached to a game
You don’t get to boil down every complaint about the game to Classic trolling. I made this thread as a genuine complaint to get something off my chest I’ve been feeling for awhile and you tried to hi-jack it and say I was doing something I’m not.
As a RPer and me, i just tune the story out mostly completely. Not really worth to quit over, but you do you.
A fantasy genre… isn’t believable. ok.
False. Look up the term “suspension of disbelief.”
A good fantasy story carries you into a world where impossible things could happen and makes you believe that they could while you’re in that headspace.
If that’s the truth I apologize, you must understand, saying your "quiting: then saying ima play classic, really gives mixed signals
Very true. And if the argument is that , then no problem since its a subjective thing that differs from person to person. But, to say this isn’t “Warcraft type story”, when there is no definable construct to that is wanting a very specific thing and faulting the storyteller for not taking that narrow direction. Warcraft Universe is immense and has always gone to many, many places. Story so far, albeit poorly written in some eyes, is par to what Warcraft is.
I realize I may be in the minority over this but I do hope they turn it around and start pumping out the Warcraft type stories and adventures we’re used to and not this weird stuff.
So, do you have anything specific in mind when you talk about “Warcraft type stories”?
I think that Blizzard just bit off far more than they could chew with their writing style–which focuses entirely on highlights without any explanation of how a character gets to where they are.
Had we been seeing Sylvanas gradually powering up, seen Nathanos’ spies discovering alliance strategies so that he and Sylvanas could lay ambushes and what-not, seen the characters actually grow some, it would have been fine. You just can’t have the climactic shocking moments without any meat to back it up without it ringing hollow.
It’s bad writing because of this. Then again, so is almost all of WoW’s writing. The lore is nice but the actual overarching stories are nearly always poorly executed.
Some of the storylines on a smaller scale are nice though.
I just hope your comment gets removed as quickly as possible. I tried to have a thread here and you kind of just went out of your way to try to grief it for no reason other than maybe you are bored.
Come on man, that’s not necessary. He apologized; there isn’t any reason to be rude.
He tried to be a smart-butt, got called out since his assumption was wrong, and then owned up to his mistake. You gotta respect at least the last part.
So when did WoW have stories that were more believable?
If he was truly apologetic and admitting of his mistakes then why hasn’t he removed the comment or edited it himself?
